Ring a bell? If not it should to you all in the states as it was him and the labour Govt. of the time that made New Zealand Nuke Free and for that I'm thankful for :D that also he said to Margret Thatcher when she was leaving a meeting with him "you forgot your broomstick" lol :p Google him sometime I think a lot here would like him.

nce while waiting at Auckland airport, Lange insisted on buying himself a newspaper and joined a queue at a newsstand. The woman in front of him turned around and said, "Good God!" Lange replied affably, "No madam, you are mistaken. I have never made that claim."

On a trip to Germany, Lange and his entourage were climbing the tower of an ancient castle when they stopped to catch their breath. "How old is this ruin?" someone asked a guide. "Forty-two years," said Lange.

When asked: "Prime Minister, I wonder if we might have a brief word..." by a journalist, Lange replied: "Wombat"
The statement which has been made by the Leader of the Opposition was that the intelligence has stopped. I don't know whether that was a personal confession or whether it was a statement of position.

You can thank him and his party for sour US-NZ relations over the past 20 years. It has probably been more detrimental to your country than positive in retrospect.

Ironically, your hospitals are causing more damage to your country than the US fleet ever could via radiation emissions.

RIP and god bless to his family/friends though.

Meh, NZ politicians were bound to stuff things up sooner or later.

Well if you like Nukes fair enough but New Zealand had the balls to say we didn't want it and we don't care about the US. I think the US thinks the universe revolves around them.

there is a big difference between nuclear weapons and nuclear powered ships.

and i think your businesses/government cares about America, even if you dont.

That's true. Nz govt wants US approval without it being too obvious, so that the people feel independent still.

And yes, huge difference with the ways nuclear energy can be utilised. Nz is so science-phobic :/ Nzers tend to focus on what can go wrong, and completely dismiss what happens/will happen when it goes right.

    That's my opinion anyway.
