Just went to a Dave Mason unplugged show last night.

Very sparse set with only one other guitarist, Jon McEuen who is the son of someone from The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Alvino M. Bennett, the drummer.

    No bass.

Jon was very good technically and played most of the lead, Dave did mostly rhythm work. The drummer only had a snare, some kinda bass drum, a bongo and a few other little touches.

This is my third time seeing Mason and i must say he is better plugged in as this was a much rawer sound, but he was much more personable this time. We heard stories about Hendrix, Dylan, and his beginnings with traffic at 18 years old, etc. how many of the songs were written and how hard it is to get anyone to listen to his music now as there are no longer any outlets for someone of his era.

    Excellent show!

Nice Review... in fact ...i don't listen to the 21st century Mason man... i'm happy to know that he is still playin' today... his 70s records were bloody emotional
