DARE fail.

So, the other day i was helping my 8 year cousin with a worksheet for her class. The worksheet was for the "D.A.R.E." program. I cant believe some of the 'facts' included...

Things such as:

"How much alcohol dose it take to kill someone?". She told me that in class, the cop that was instructing them told them "One drop, if your under twenty one".

Guess this means i should be dead.


What the hell has the school system come to? I think we should teach kids the truth on about drugs.

Their where two more "facts" as crazy as the one above. Feel free to comment.

 

I work in retail, and we take trades on cd's and dvd's, records and games. We give cash, so I see allot of tweekers.
My fave regular junkie always wears a DARE t-shirt.

DARE is stupid. you know what kept me from doing drugs? my parents. i even held off on weed until i talked with them about it (weed is acceptable, my mom always said to avoid chemicals because you can't trust people not to fuck them up, but weed and shrooms and even alcohol occur in nature all on their own)
my mom was pissed when i did DARE, i came home and told her, in detail, how to snort coke. on account of they taught us that in school. boy was she mad.

 

I learned more about making Meth from the cops at school than anywhere else.. I remember them talking about all the common ingredients and everything. They actually did a lot more talk about that than about how bad drug use is.. which would make more sense.

Our town sucks though. Big area for it.

 

Dude, I see people like that every once in awhile and it always makes me smile. A drunk guy or fucked up person with a DARE shirt on is always slightly amusing. That program obviously works wonders.

 

Hahahahahahaha... That the funniest thing I've heard in a loooong time.

But seriously, it's probably a good thing that they have these programs, because there's no way that in 4 years the kids will relize it was total bullshit.

They should also teach them about pillow pants, the pussy troll that will bite off you penis if you try to have sex before you're 18.

Some rather extensive consideration has me leaning toward the DARE program being a good thing- but not the way they intend...

It has to do with some basic respect for any person's intelligence and what the act of proffering such transparently insulting bullshit propaganda says about the attitude the messenger has for the intended audience.

If anyone actually believes that rhetoric then they have shown their minds to be sufficiently defective without the stimulating challenge of recreational substances and therefore they probably shouldn't touch alcohol or drugs.... or conversely- that they have reached such a perfect ideal of indoctrination that its delicate balance would be thrown off by exposure to real life. Such pinnacles of enlightenment should be jealously protected. Fortunately there are places specifically created to attend to their every need- popularly known as mental hospitals these in-patient psychiatric facilities will help maintain the delicate balance of idealistic drivel and fairy tale grade propaganda- often with the critical help of prescription dru....

My kids did this program at school and not only was I not impressed but they were not either.

The only thing that I felt was positive about it was it was a good start for us as a family to really talk about some of it in depth. I actually think that was an advantage as they approached me with it.

 

where does alcohol occur in nature by itself?

alcohol is formed when yeast break down sugars

a friend of mine bought a retired police car at a police auction, and you you could see the outline of where the 'DARE: keep off drugs' stickers were on the back end of his crown vic.
one side just said 'keep drugs' though
and we were always smoking in that car. fun times!

We had a speech contest in DARE that I won. I got to give my speech at our DARE graduation in the state capitol. Looks like that program did a lot of good. I'ma go do a line now.
