Just watching his stand up (new i believe) and within the first 10 minutes he has already bitten a classic joke from Dave Chappelle.. its pretty sad really
I haven't watched it yet, but it happens a lot in comedy, it's not just Tosh. At least he is pretty funny and original most of the time and has a pretty good delivery overall.
There is no such thing as a stolen joke. Its a cover. Laugh and enjoy. On a side note, if I am stoned, I can watch the same episode of tosh.0 over and over and laugh till I cry every time.
speaking of daniel tosh... GOD i hate that guy. some of his jokes on his show are moderately funny, but mostly he just makes me want to kill myself. or him. he's like, the most annoying person that ever got a tv show.
He's hot though, so that earns him some slack in my book :2thumbsup: And no, the most annoying person to ever get a TV show would be Kathy Griffin. She should have never left her mother's womb alive, much less appeared on camera.
Not to say that doesn't happen (Carlos Mencia would be an ideal example) but sometimes it could be true. Sometimes, I come up with what I think is a phenomenal original idea that I couldn't have possibly heard of before, I'm like *this* close to getting a patent on it only to find out someone already said/thought of it loooong ago And sometimes the opposite will happen. Some ideas I need to keep to myself until I actually do get a patent lol I've had credit stolen from me so many times after opening my mouth too soon, it really is just a cycle of give and take...
When we gonna talk about Libya?... http://submediatv.com/ Chill the fuck out agitator .. I stole that joke, with a twist..
I haven't watched much of him, but; He's a little bitch who sits on 4chan and makes money off of it. It's like a /b/ tv show, only with a NOT FUNNY douchebag running it. Yeah, you found a funny video... say something funny about it... do it again.... and again... and again... That's all well and fine, until you realize he typed boards.4chan.org/b/ and took the entire front page and put it on TV. Any basement-dwelling computer geek like myself knows all that shit because it's all hugely viral before he gets it. /rant
yea i came up with this idea of peace and love but it turns out they already thought of that in the 60s or something?
yes with certain jokes it really could be a coincidence.. but like any up and coming comedian today it is extremely unlikely that he has not studied chappelles stand ups and the joke stealing obviousness was not subtle.. im sorry if you all are unwilling to believe it- i was actually disappointed because i like the show and no Wonka it is not like covering a song.. it is like one rapper biting a couple of lines from another and then selling the track as a single with the original authors name no where in the credits
I have no idea what 4chan is... so I guess for the rest of us who are not versed in the hottest internet trends and are barely up to speed with what's going on on Comedy Central, it'll do for now.
I didn't say it wasn't true, I was just offering another angle. Like I said, it happens ALL the time in comedy (and music, and writing, and movies, etc...), it's not just him. Whatever, it's a moderately funny show that is greatly enhanced by moderate to large amounts of weed, I try not to look that deeply into it and just squeeze a laugh or two into life now and then before it all goes kaput
There is a dude where I work, hes a stand up comedian one day he was tripping in the lunch room and it was all on tape. But he didnt even know all the jokes he lost cause it was all just bang bang bang on the spot.. One day when reviewing tapes/cd for security reasons I stumbled on it. I gave it to him. Was the best act he had in months he said after he watched the tape and did the jokes for his act...
so he did something similar to someone elses material.. it's not like he claimed that it was his joke.. comedians don't go "Ok.. this next joke i wrote"
Also half of comedy is how you're able to deliver a joke, there's a reason Daniel Tosh got famous while everybody else who could say the same things on /b/ are not. Also his stand up is much funnier than his show.
