Ugh, im fairly sure i have some, but i just washed my hair on saturday, how could this be. I've looked up some remedies, but i Dont have any tea tree oil or aloe Vera, jsut Dr bronner TTO and Aloe Vera after sun gel. All the methods i've seen require washing out, but im trying not to since i just washed

U think the after sun would be okay to use, its ingredients don't seem too apealing, Water, SD Alcohol 40, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Fragrance, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Benzophenone 4, Yellow 5, Blue 1

wait til your next wash, use the bronners (tea tree is good for flakies) and rinse, rinse and rinse again.

noooo no good its not even aloe vera another type aloe some of wghich are toxic and cause bad skin reactions

rosemary tea sprayed on left on

    whats dr bronners tto? tto?
    ohh teatree oil..duh
yea thats good if the dandruffs cokmming basck quickly, add rosemary oil
    or
switch to baking soda sea saly t (just a touch) teatree oil (not much at all..5 drops to a gallon?) and rosemary oil (much more, 20+ drops)
    dump it on and wait
ythe dandruffs dissolved kinda it cann feel intence, a lil butrrny almost tiggling like crazty
leave it on long as u can stand (then if its bad scratch the scalp well to loosen up anything remaining) and rince out thoutroughly

i had scalp probs from hell that even bled
that mix solved em nearly 100% after many years trying everything else even prescription treatments
nothing worked as good as baking soda rosemarty and teatree (but i found i had to reduce the teatree cause a lil wuill help, alot will hurt)

i was doing ..who knows.. 30 or more to sa gallon id just shakle it a good bit.. i still do that with rosemary, but the teatree now i limmit to 1 shake and it works better then ever

teatree is anticeptic so kills bacterial causes
but..it also dries out the scalp alot so causes dryness causes
rosemaryt ..i cant say how it works not having my herb books anymore
but seems to pick up the slack and fixes the orther causes as long as the teatree isnt too overpowering.
a veruy lil bit of teatee should do what it hast to do since its so powerful (the strongest anticeptic there is)

Beware of sea salt and baking soda if you've got problems with dry scalp. Those products tend to be very drying. I don't know how that would be with the rosemary oil but SE seems to have some experience with it so it wouldn't hurt to try his remedy. Let us know how it goes.

I did some painting and exercise to forget about the itches, and they went away lol, might come back with a vengance due to my sweat, but I also showered with a cap, so we shall see.
Im holding out until thursday to wash my hair. would the rosmary be ok to get from mums spice cabinet, or does it have to be the fresh freen leafy alive kind? I wanna try the chamamille and lemon rinse to lighten things up.

Well what SE was talkin about was rosemary essential oil. You could use rosemary from the spice cabinet though, check out the sticky "Herbs for your Head." As for itchies, nothing works better than Tea Tree Oil in my opinion. I just put a tiny dab on finger and gently massage it into my scalp wherever it is itchy. Also, I think I posted this another time, but a good way to moisturize your scalp and get the benefits of Tea Tree Oil in one, is to take a teaspoon or two of olive oil, mix it with a drop or two of Tea Tree Oil, get a tiny dab on your finger and massage that into your scalp. Works great for me when my scalp is dry and itchy.

I am, but i dont think this could be the source cuz i was itching on sunday, the day after trying bronners for the first time, hopefully im just a bad rinser and its bronner residue left behind.

What do you guys physically do to wash your hair, i just kinda scalp massage, should i get more scrubby ya think?

if u use bronners scratch at tghe scalp scraping aeway any flakes then rince through
the baking soda just opour it on and let it set as long as u can stand it it will tingle like crazy
it disolves any buildup of dead skin or so it seems i never have to touch my head just let it do its theng then rince it iut

why were u showering with a cap
no wonder ya got dandruff if u cant get the flakes out that are trapped under the cap

I would make sure that I was not rinsing right before trying anything else. But I'm a Lazy Pete, who doesn't like making more work for myself.

I scrub at my scalp and rinse for a long time, and rub at the hair past the scalp, since soap runs into them.

soap and shampoo made my scalp itch and made dandruff much worse.
what i do is just let my scalp take care of itself. i only wash with water and i have no problems now. much much less dandruff and next to no itchies. when i used to use bronners etc, my scalp would itch within a couple of days.
my theory is that the less messing i do and the fewer products that i regularly use on my scalp, the easier it will be for it to regulate itself regarding oil production and such.
in the interest of cleaning the dreads themselves to get out the accumulated dust and dirt, i do a deep clean every month or three.
works for me and its worth a try :)
