After two years of putting it off from embarrassment, I finally got some! :) Aren't they beautiful (ok, now I KNOW I've gone off the deep end!)?

    Congrats!

I've been meaning to get some as well, I even got a pattern to make some myself, but never got around to it...

    Anyway, enjoy! :)

I used sea sponges... they were really great.

I got insteads and they don't fit me... but I really like the idea of having many options... I don't like doing just pads or just tampons or just anything. I went through just pad and just tampon phases, but I do a lot better when I have a lot of choices for the differing circumstances.

the ones in the bottom right hand corner look like little barbie mattresses. :)

i still cant wrap my head around using cloth pads. i mean, all of those bleached, plastic, synthetic pads that end up in landfill are nasty and all, but... they're little, and comfortable and dont feel like giant pillows. 20 years ago when i first started menstruating, disposable pads were enormous and bulky and yucky. cloth reminds me of that. sad huh?

lots of women say that cloth is more comfortable, but are they as absorbant? do they leak? are they messy?

Those look really well made and comfy. The 2 in the bottom right corner look just like inflatable pool matresses.

    Edit: OMG jinx Nimh!

Nimh, they come with all sorts of protective barriers like nylon, PUL, hemp, terrycloth... :) And they're surprisingly thin! When I ordered these ones, I had a slight feeling they might be as thick as pillows, but they aren't! The overnight ones I got (the ones that look like Barbie mattresses, lol) are about...oh, half an inch thick? :)

    Hahaha, mattresses...that cracks me up!

Nimh, they're about like the thickness of cloth pads, and just as absorbent.
