No more employment benefits, and still no job. Fuck. (although I have a very good chance at a position. They have not yet decided).
I am sorry!!. Hope you get that job!. Keep your head up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YrEXlpnQBk"]the slackers - Everyday is sunday - YouTube
Listen I don't know you but I feel very bad and I'm sorry to hear that. I'm in the same boat and it really sucks. I'll keep you in my prayers. Nothing left to do but smile smile smile.
Honestly dont believe in gov payments but their are enough people in this world to help out family and friends live off the land make cut backs theirs always a way around somthing till you get back on your feet.
it's actually really easy, but most of them pay minimum wage, and most people would rather not make any money than make minimum wage.
I hate being on unemployment too. But the tax I paid into the benefit since I was 17, and first used it at age 51, I decided I'd deal with it. I've got a husband that doesn't have permanent employment, and a kid in college. Times are tough. Taz! The JOB position is QA Research Associate. Wish me luck. Sitka...In California USA we have a 10% unemployment rate. In my own industry there is a steady flow of jobs to try for. There are several of us trying to get the job though.
I speak only for myself here; but, 3 years ago when I was actively looking for work, I was applying for mostly minimum wage jobs - and I was out of work for 2 years before I found a job. I was lucky in obtaining, at that time, a job that paid $8/hr which here in SC is .75 over minimum wage. That diner closed after 1 1/2 years...but not because we didn't have business! The people that owned it also owned several other businesses, and I learned that if a business is making money it cannot be claimed as a tax write-off. That is why I think they closed. Anyway...back to minimum wage jobs... When I broke my ankle I was working a part-time job making 7.25/hr (minimum wage) and driving 18 miles one way to get there! I was making just a little more than it cost me in gas to get there. When I called there to tell the manager that I had broken my ankle, it seemed I could hear him tap-dancing in the background as I heard him tell me, with glee, that "I can't hold the job for ya...buh bye. " From my personal experience jobs are not that easy to find, here in SC, being paid minimum wage or not. Especially when you are my age.
Who you get the job Cali I've never had a job with benefits, hell I've never had a job that paid overtime LoL
It depends where you are in the US. Where I am there are absolutely no jobs. I mean it. No jobs within 50 miles that accept people who only have high school and some college. And since our area is so buried in the middle of nowhere you spend all your paycheck on gasoline getting to the place. Plus the cost of living is horrible. And even when I lived in the suburbs jobs were rarely found. Some people are lucky to be in areas with great opportunities but let me tell you this country is a blessing or a curse depending on where you are.
there's no jobs within 50 miles, and nobody that listens to the grateful dead within 100 miles. i think you may just be the boy who cried "no wolves within 75 miles."
