When you want a cup in 7-11, don't take one. It counts as inventory. They are literally selling cups there, not coffee or tea. I don't understand the science of inventory and I've never done it. But I've seen people to walk out of the store without paying for a cup. And they usu. stop them.

Ask for a blue cup, if you just want a cup. When they see you walking out the store with a blue cup, they'll know it's just a cup.

Of course they do sell coffee at 7-11. And tea too. Then it's called a "refill". Let me explain. When you buy a special cup there, your first "refill" is free. Now, they used to let me bring in my own mug from home. And then charge me for a refill. I don't know if they still do that. (Or you could just cup your hands and take the coffee out the store that way. But that might burn.)

So to review, in 7-11 you can get coffee in their disposable cup. And then your buying that cup. If you just buy the coffee by itself, you're buying a "refill". And so forth.
