I don't know what you're talking about. I've always been this way. I've always thought like this. He will come back and save us. Um, let's just get real and admit we all somehow hope some magical man from beyond the grave coming back to save us is somewhere programmed into each and every one of us. Once we admit that, it's not called a cult. It's called society. Let's enjoy it fully together and stop waiting for him to tell us it's time.
It's always nice to put your fate in the hands of an unseen entity. It makes the world seem safer than it really is. Once you realize there is nothing and no one looking out for you, reality sets in that you're really alone in the universe and ultimately meaningless on the cosmic scale. That's too much for some people to handle so they cling to their primitive supernatural beliefs. When those people with those supernatural beliefs start to form a sub society of their own, and when that sub society becomes a threat to its members or to other people, then its a cult of the most dangerous kind. Most religions, both large and small fall into that category, with their holy wars, mass conversions and policitcal agendas.
