Crimping beads

    HOw the heck do u use them???? do u use wire or plastic stringy stuff....do u just put the wire through the crimping bead and make a little loop on the end and pull it back down through and squeeze it shut with pliers??????? I want to make a lariat necklace and it kept talking about these crimping beads. I'm going to buy some today at walmart....so when i get home i hope there is someone who can help me so i can make one tonight! haha thanks!!!!!!!!

    what i have always used is the coated wire stuff. yes, you string it, then loop a bit back and crimp it with pliers. try to feed any extra back into the beads (doubling), and cut any off that you cannot do this with. don't do it too small or it will come loose.

    That is a good explaination. Just make sure that when you crimp the bead, you close it tightly. You don't want it to slip off. I like to double about an inch, no matter what type of string or wire I'm using. I usually use nylon. It is tough, cheap and easy to work with. But silk cord works well for delicate beads.

    When you buy them there are usually instructions inside the label. Try a search on the net for some how-tos...:D

    So crimping beads will work on string, wire, and elastic cord???
