So yesterday I was over my buddies house when his cousins flew in from Cali. Turns out that his aunt is a super "Go Go Jesus" cheerleader.

A couple highlights from this religious zealot (not taken out of context).

"Christianity doesn't teach you to be a good person".
"What gives you the authority to decide whats right and wrong?"
"If there's no objective law, anything goes!"
"Buddhism IS A RELIGION!! I could tell you a lot about Buddhism and Hinduisms because many of my students are those."
"What do you mean Buddha wasn't a God?"
"You can't be Buddhist and Christian at the same time, they're two opposite religions."
"How can you believe in parts of different religions?"
"You can't wear pants to church. You have to wear your absolute best for Jesus."

It's been a while since I've talked to a person like that. It reminds me of how confused some people are.

Christians are really the only religion that feels the need to shove themselves down your throat. "You must believe exactly as I do because if you don't your going to be punished by going to an eternity in a hot place, but it's ok because I am here to teach you the right way".

Allot of Christians are nice people, but some just don't understand people who think differently

1,000 paths one light, they need to remember that.

I think every religion does this, to a certain extent. Atheists are just as guilty as believers here, too.

This is why I wont go to Arizona to visit my cousins. One of them married a pastor's daughter. I can deal with Christians, but not the born again Jesus Freaks.

I have found that Atheists are worse, for the most part. ('Worse' meaning they try and shove opinions down your throat to a further extent than Christians)
It is as if the Atheists I have talked to on the subject (And by that I mean who have brought it up and created the argument) have this absurd ego about them, and sense of superiority just because they don't believe a certain thing.

*And to make my stance more clear, I am not a follower of any religion, but I do not consider myself Atheist. I don't deny that God or Gods exist, I simply do not follow any.

I try not to even enter discussions with anyone who is "super" religious (or anti-religious). Too much energy spent on people on a subject where neither side is likely to change their mind. I try to avoid politics for the same reason.

I myself am starting to study buddhism. But generally, I am agnostic or atheist depending on what day you catch me (or depending on if the White Sox or Bears lose lol)

yah man i know how you feel. its really annoying, its like theyll tell you the same shit over n over n over, expecting you to change your mind, but witohut even the slightest idea that someone else could change theres.

same way with hardcore athiests or something, its like you already "know" your right, so theres no point in debating with you cause really your just tryin to argue your point and not learn from anyone elses. fuckin dumb
anywayz yeah man, i just wish religion wasn't a issue, it more divides people than brings em together, i fuckin hate it to be honest, but hey its life, people believe shit. so i guess i just say get along with everyone, and if they cant accept your different well no love lost but im gonna move on to a mor chill friend man.

i think bein agnostic about all things in life is really the most logical way to go about it.
