Hey everybody, I had a CRAZY barefoot adventure in my neighborhood that I might as well share. So I really wanted to get an earthing adventure in today since I missed doing it on Earth Day because I was busy, so I just went so it wouldn’t be on my mind all day. I thought today wouldn’t be so bad since there weren’t so many people driving into the neighborhood today, but BOY OH BOY was I wrong. Apparently one of my neighbors saw me and they thought it was so weird that she called the COPS about it, and moments later, when I was still barefoot in my yard, a cop car pulled onto my street and stopped. After he stopped, he rolled down the window and asked if I was lost, and I told her that this is my neighborhood and I was just walking barefoot in it for fun, and he kept asking where my shoes were, so I answered him. He then asked me questions like “Is this your house” and “Are you locked out” and stuff like that. I gave them all the answers needed. I proved to the officer that I was not locked out. Then he asked for my mom’s number, and then I gave them it and after the cops let me off the hook, that ended my earthing adventure, so I went back in my house, and right when I got back in, my mom called me on my cell and said the cops had called her and told her what happened. When my parents got home, my dad really wanted to know about how the conversation went, so I told him about it. So the aftermath of this situation is that my earthing adventures still live, but I have to stay in the backyard outside the fence because my dog takes turds in the fence.
It's reading stuff like this that makes me fear trying to being barefoot in public eye. What is wrong with people. In my old neighborhood I used to walk to the local park at night, and then go barefooting through the park. For your exact reason is why I did it at night.
I assume this was in America? I'll tell you what, I've never been pulled over by the cops for my feet like this. That's some serious police state mentality right there.
Ohh for crying out loud! Ok, you were barefoot, it's not like you were totally naked or something like that. You were on your own property just out for a walk as you told the officer. The problem is now that everyone seems to be uptight about being barefoot outside a pool or beach these days it might look odd to someone. How many times was I barefoot outside my home?....nobody cared, it was NORMAL! IMHO your neighbor should mind their own cotton picking business and let you do as you please. One thing I can't stand is nosey neighbors..
I was once accosted by a cop because I was walking barefoot. It was a pleasant and sunny afternoon, and I was only a hundred feet from my own driveway. The cop asked if I was "OK," if I had been "robbed," (?) and "where was I going." Unbe-fucking-lievable.
Total nightmare. Why the hell would she call the police and why would they even respond?! Imagine calling the police because someone isn’t wearing long sleeves, it’s effectively the same thing. Mad! The worst I’ve had is once being stopped at a National Trust park by rangers and asked if I was ok, they’d had a radio call from a concerned colleague. Again it’s ridiculous but nothing more than an annoyance. As for this weekend I’ve been barefoot in forests and did the grocery shopping in bare feet after. The lady on the checkout saw and said she preferred being barefoot too. No problems at all, felt great. Hopefully you get similar positive experiences if you do it again
If anyone gives me a hard time I always fall back on the stepped in dog shit excuse. Stepped in a big pile of dog shit and just threw my shoes out, it was so nasty no way I could clean them. Shit was all in the treads. At least barefoot I watch where I am going.
What a neighborhood! I'm sorry you live around people like that. Around here, people love to see kids and young people go barefoot. It's healthy. Foothills of the smokey mountains.....Alabama. When you get on your own, move away.
During the summer, a lot of guys your age meet at the falls and jump......then climb back up the face of the falls using the rope. There's some danger, but they are free. This is my grandson.....high school age.
