several cardboard boxes of waybills and other operating documents from a railroad who's overgrown former right of way forms part of the trail you find them along side of, making you amazed at how intact and undisturbed they are, even though there is less then an inch of mud and dried leaves hiding them. (yup, me and a friend of mine did once. back in the early 60s. the railroad was the nevada county narrow gauge, that had last turned a wheel in the early 1940s)
