Can a cop post an ad on craigslist looking for "420 friendly" people to smoke with or is that entrapment? I've heard of cops responding to certain ads and then busting the "suspect" upon a meeting but can they post one as well?
Did he indicate he's a cop on the ad? If so and someone went to smoke up with him, then yes, they should be arrested. But not for smoking...for stupidity.
It is entrapment but try telling that to a cop. Cops in Canada seem to hold them self’s above the law and that’s why they have no friends except other cops. And even if they begged me I wouldn't waste a doobie smoking it with them.
I should have said "undercover cop". Like can a cop post an add pretending to be a regular dude looking for some smoking buddys or something and arrest them later on if & when the person meets up and buys or smokes pot with him?
Does law really matter? I've heard and seen shit that leaves you shaking your head, or wanting to cry and was ANY of it legal. I guess to answer your question, if they find you on the net, they'll find a way to bust you. Just as a side note. A friend of mine was beat to death less than a month ago by county cops in Missouri. He ran a red light and got into it with the cop and the next thing you know he's dead. Nothing in the local paper...just dead. Is it legal? or is it just how things are?
Oh and by the way...420 isn't code. Everyone knows, and if someone posts an ad looking for 420 friendly...run the other way. Responding is like saying HERE I AM...HERE I AM. I may be paranoid, but then again....Why take the chance. Just as a sidenote, I, nor anyone that I've ever associated with has ever smoked marijuana, or taken part in the use of illegal drugs.
I've heard of cops stinging prostitutes through craigslist undercover cops do not have to tell you they are cops, they do not have to tell you they are cops if you ask them entrapment only means they can not cause you to commit a crime you wouldn't have otherwise maybe in such a situation, they would be able to get you, but with a real good (expensive) lawyer, you may just be able to get off
lawyers are that expensive because they bribe the judges, the bigger the bribe the better your chances BTW fight back and put ads in there yourselves, only cops will answer and then make a citizens arrest when they start using

smoking pot isnt illegal unless you think it is illegal. i was almost busted in my yonger years but i told the cop that it isnt a harful drug like coke and it should only be illegal for ppl who arent responsible about it. he just turned his head and let me go. so it leads me to say this; be responsible and you wont get in trouble.
a lot of cops wouldn't have turned their heads like that but I do agree that in most cases, if you are responsible about smoking, you will not get caught

Yes an under cover cop will try to trick you into believing that they are just a person looking for some one to smoke with then bust you. We have a cop-testing question here on the Island. It is – how many cops does it take to screw in a light bulb? If they don’t answer 2 – one to screw in the bulb and another one to cover his ass – then they are probably a cop. Cheers!

Hahahahaha How about this - there is a 99% chance you won't get busted, UNLESS you post an ad that appears to be meant SOLELY to find a smoking partner. I think that would raise your chances. And no, and undercover cop isn't going to post an ad looking for 420 friendly people and then bust them.
I had just heard about this site on the news when they were talking about some cops busting some prostitutes who were running a business on the site. So I went there and I see all these ads for "looking for 420 friendly....blah blah". So I wondered........ You gotta figure cops are going to have better things to do but if it's legal.....take a look at Tommy Chong.
Put adverts in there youself and when the cops answer and turn up, pull out a gun and make a bullshit !
People should realize that in this day and age, the police can do whatever the hell they want to do.
