Ok I've made jewelery for as long as I can remember but I'm having trouble with earrings and charms........... The little metal sticks you can buy that your beads fit on to and then you curve the end so it will fit on a earing back or necklace ect...... How in the world do you get an even bend on it so that it looks and hangs straight? I keep breaking them off till there to short or making them uneven and they look awful....What are the best kind of pliers for making wire jewelery? and can someone tell how in the world you remember what direction to go when you start hemp jewelery?!?! As a past herb smoker and someone who works all day I start and in the middle forget where I began!!! I think thats my own personal problem .....but any suggestions are welcome! *LOVE*PEACE*HAPPINESS*
ok, so, are you using silver wire? Because that shouldn't just snap off. I use 2 kinds of pliers, but the best ones are an entirely round nose. I'll take some pics and type up a little tutorial for you on basic wire wrapping if you want, just let me know :0)
for the hemp if you are doingthe square knott its quite easy ou will see in the pattern theyat either side wyou get one bit which loops over and one side that doesnt. this alternated with every stitch. so the ontop loop wil go left right left right etc etc hmmm lets see if i can finda close up to show you what i mean.: so if the downward bit was on the felt for the last stitch then you take the thread ffrom the left over to the rigth for the next sititch. .... if that makes sense :S
To make your pins hang straight, you need to bend the end at a right angle first, then make your loop. You should get a "lollypop" shape and not a "P" shape. If your pin is too long, cut it after you make your loop. Paix is right, round-nose pliers are a must.
well, if you're making a flat hemp(square), you're alternating left right left right, and if you've forgotten which side you're supposed to turn, just look at the last knot, one string will be sticking out, and the other won't, you have to take the cord that isn't sticking out, like here: (fleassy's pic=)) you would have to use the top string for your next knot. that probably made no sense at all lol
Thanks guys that helped tons!!! and yes Paix I would like those pics and tutorial... That would really help.... Off to the craft store I go!!! *LOVE*PEACE*HAPPINESS*
