I don't hate foxes and cats per se, but I hope you know that they are largely responsible for the near extinction of much native fauna in Aus such as the quolls. Hey I once visited this woman who has a self-sufficient rural property. She is a dark greenie and an animal liberationist.I sat down on a chair and noticed a couple of cat skins. She said, " I tried feeding the meat to the dogs but they wouldn't eat it". Her house was largely furnished from stuff she picked up at the tip.I also go shopping at the tip.
I am aware of the near-religious hatred of cats and foxes in Australia by some residents, and the many sins attributed to imported and feral species. It is interesting to note that problems have occured around the world when nonnative species are imported for sport hunting opportunities, such as foxes, wild boars, nutria and many others. Animal People News has kept its international readership updated on these species which are so often greeted by a "kill, kill, kill" mentality, wherever they appear. http://www.animalpeoplenews.org/98/6/bunny.html http://www.animalpeoplenews.org/92/10/dogsCats10.92.cfm As for the supposed animal liberationist woman, I would expect a truly committed animal rights advocate to take the idea of killing an animal as a truly grave matter to be done in only the most extreme and dire situations---and would not desire to keep skins or hides as a trophy or keepsake.
