ok let me tell you a story im a student you know than i get called into the SRO place thingy than they talk and i talk than they search me they find a tobacco pipe two lighters and a ROACH I'm not getting charged for the pipe or the lighters but the roach They call it Possession of Mary Jane and here are my punishments so far 365 day suspension from school i have to go to a "Alternative School" Which btw is no place for a hippie. You know what i mean and ill more than likely have probation but again for a damn roach so tell me what you think is it fair or are they being just a tad bit harsh
Tough luck kid. A lesson to be learned. Never carry anything on you that could endanger your freedom or rights. You know it's illegal, why did you feel the need to bring it to school. That's being careless. While you are on probation, you will be tested randomly for drugs if you fail more then once you will be placed in J.D. for the remainder of your probation/sentence. Remember, Never, ever tote more then you can eat, and ya cant eat pipes or other paraphenailia. Sorry you had to find out the hard way. Learn and grow from what you have learned. sh

thats shit i got suspended for 17 days for smelling like marijuania. How could they find a roach? the told me to empty out my pockets and my bag was in my pocket and i pulled then out and nothing fell out so i just slipped by it eas the shit. Then i just smoked it. That is a little harsh. for a whole year. I wonder if thats what would happen to me if they found drugs on me... Lets not find out

when i was in high school the whole student body would go on strike if cops came on campus to search us or our lockers. hell, we protested the no pants rules for girls and the school board was forced to change the dress code. since there's not much point in teaching to an empty classroom the cops stayed off our campus unless there was real trouble. but that was in the 70s and i guess there was still enough residule 60's spirit to get us kids outraged at such intrusive fascist tactics and cohesive enough to protest. the "if you haven't got anything to hide you shouldn't mind" meme didn't cut it with us. no way would we have put up with the authoritarian crap today's younger generation puts up with. kids nowadays seemed cowed into submission or perhaps they simply lack a sense of personal space and privacy, as if it's normal to have cameras watching your every move and having your person and belongings routinely searched. seems like kids today are being conditioned to accept fascism on reflex, no questions asked, not a peep of dissent so they'll be obedient drones when they grow up and the word "freedom" will be as anachronistic as the word "groovy". **shrug** it's a brave new world.
Man, they call the cops for the littlest thing now. Now, they send you straight to court if you get caught smoking cigs. So, you can only imagine they're even more hardcore on "drug abuse."
yep. a little friend of mine got "caught" giving her friend an asprin at her middle school. the school and the cops made a huge big deal out of it and the poor kid ended up in the "bad kid's" school for 3 months. over a fucking asprin, fer crise sake! what REALLY pissed me off was that her dad stood behind what the school was doing to his child, agreed with the criminalizing of his little girl. i lost a lot of respect for him and i told him so. he sat there on my couch berating his daughter's behavior with a joint in his fingers. the hypocrisy was just so blatant that when i pointed it out to him all he could do was give me a sheepish expression. i feel he should have stood up for his daughter, fought the hell they were putting her thru over a frigging asprin but he didn't. at the very least he should have reassured her she hadn't really done anything wrong so was undeserving of the punishments heaped upon her. instead he joined in the chorus of condemnation. he went along with the nasty program thus confirming to his child that one must grovel in front of authority even if the authority is stupid and unjust. i still love the man as a friend but he really disappointed me. he tossed his little girl under the fascist bus b/c it was easier than fighting for her rights. asprin is not a controlled substance so neither the school nor the cops had a legal right to persecute that little girl. they only get away with such nazi nonsense because parents are too self involved to give a damn that their children are being squashed by an oppressive system.
