Yep, that's a grand old sentence there.
But to pull my head out of my arse for a second, I'd appreciate some of your thoughts.
I've been thinking about how animals communicate and wondering if there could be a state of mind we're missing as humans. OK: we're meant to be highly evolved, but compared to what? Take whales for instance, calmly munching along for millions of years, and with a sufficently developed communication system to coordinate their migratory movements, hunt, tell youngsters to stay where they told while adults dive deep, play, repremand and all using tuneful notes completely beyond our understanding. And we wouldn't doubt that they are intelligent. Chimps, Wolves, Orangutans, Ants, and on.
So I'm wondering, how you think we will one day come to possess and interspecies communication system. Will it involve some form of neural impulse modulating gizmo to metamorphose our thoughts into other perceptual plains? Or could we devise a way to amplifie psychic waves?
Maybe I'm just gibbering, but I'm be interested in you views.......

Neurology and nanotechnology should converge around 2020-2025, allowing tiny brain chips to transmit our thoughts to any outside source, if we so desire.

There's already an invention to translate your thoughts into actions: the rest of your body.

Amplifying psychic waves will not happen (unless you consider the idea in my first paragraph to be "psychic waves") because such a thing does not exist. Modern science has uncovered NO evidence to suggest it does, and there is no reason to believe that we have just missed something.

You can't compare the evolution of our species to any other species.

We may evolve to be able to understand other species. But there is no gaurentee that they will evolve in any similar fashion.

In-the-species. Not Inter-species. That is evolution.

The idea of nanointerfacing with perhaps a web of connected people around the world for instant communication, or even as a conduit to instruct objects around you, "chair.here" could be a though induced command instruction. Perhaps it might be possible to tap into animal thoughts in such a way. Not so that they will be able to speak English as such, but so that consious thought could be transmuted from chemical to electrical and back to chemical between species. In order to provide combined thought....it might be that it's akin to a form of 'brainwashing' where we supplant our thoughts into another animal....."slippers.here"!!

Cosmically manifested interspecies communication in action:

"hey pup, wanna go play ball?"
"Woof" (grabs ball and heads to door)

I would think there are all kinds of "states of mind" that animals have, perhaps instinctively, that help keep them alive. You have only to consider some of the amazing sensitivities of sight, smell and hearing, for example demonstrated by eagles (who can spot a mouse from literally a mile away), animals and insects using pheromones, and elephants (who can hear one another from two miles away).

These are abilities we have so far observed. What else is out there? Only in recent years has the "bee's dance" been discovered, and what is the whale song all about, just two examples of extraordinary abilities?

I still wonder what the Pituitary and Pineal glands really do. Medical science has not caught up with these, but is it possible they are dormant organs that promise conscious usage of what is presently considered “psychic”?

By the way, I believe wholeheartedly in extra-sensory perception as it once saved my life.
