I bought this book recently. I don't remember the name of it... but in the book, it referenced cosmeticdatabase.com I checked out the website, and now I'm pretty much obsessed. You can either look up products or if they don't have it, you can enter in all the information yourself. But what it is, is a database of just about any body/beauty product from make-up to baby care and it deciphers the ingredients and gives it a rating of 0-10 on how dangerous the product is and it lists each ingredient and gives what it is known for, like organ toxicity for example. And if you're skeptical, it gives the percentage of error because it obviously isn't exact since you really have no way of knowing how much of each ingredient is in the product. But its amazing how bad everything really is for you, even the products that claim they're really pure. I went to an Arbonne make up party a couple months ago, and the sales lady was going on about how these are the purest things you can buy for your body. Well, one of the first things I did when I discovered the website was look up the mascara that I had bought from them, and the rating received a 7 (with 10 being the worse). Wow.
