Having been listening to all the news on the pandemic I have come to two conclusions, number one, nobody in authority either knows the true facts or is prepared to tell what they are, and number two, the only people not likely to get it are those who are dead!
Late last year I was taken ill with syptoms very like covid, I was told it was just a bug! My wife caught it and we both ended up spending days in bed feeling very ill indeed. Now lots of people are coming forward saying they had similar problems!
They said it was only fatal to the elderly, then young people started dying of it, allegedly.
The next thing they said was that older smokers were less at risk, not suprising really when you consider that the virus attacks the lungs which in a smoker are already full of nicotine and other stuff and as we all know, nicotine is one of the most toxic substances going, so it probably would kill the virus!
We get told we have to maintain a separation of at least 2 meters between people, yet they still allowed trains and buses to run, now they're on about allowing more planes to fly, providing they don't fill them full, despite the fact that the air in planes is constantly re-circulated, and since they banned smoking on flights the air purification is less effective, be honest if someone farts at the back of a plane it's not long before you can smell it at the front!
Rules and restrictions are being changed almost daily, advice often changes within hours, there's loads of theories flying about, mostly by the foil hat brigade, about an attempt to control the population and I'm not going to get involved in this, I just wish that the so called experts would be honest, now that would make a refreshing change.

If anyone has a validated clue its some of those 'so called' experts though. Not knowing everything about a new virus doesn't render them expert off :p
Especially if the officials from the country of origin (fair to assume covid19 originated in China at this point) can't be trusted in giving all or even the right info.

We will never know the truth. It will come down to people will believe what they want to believe. If they are still alive. At this point that's all I hope for.

In order to understand the origins of the Coronavirus, you must first ask yourself who is being hurt the most by the pandemic and who is benefiting the most,
and they are not mutually exclusive.

I'll leave that question in the hands of the OP or as an open question for anyone who wants to discover the truth.

Speaking during an interview on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday, the former Chicago mayor and chief of staff to President Barack Obama brought back his infamous quote from the 2008 financial collapse in an attempt to highlight that the government can learn from its mistakes when dealing crises. “Never allow a crisis to go to waste,” Emanuel said Sunday. “Start planning for the future.”

“Never allow a good crisis go to waste. It's an opportunity to do the things you once thought were impossible.”.

Problem is the people benefiting from a crisis are not always the cause of the crisis they are just opportunists.

I firmly believe that there are a lot of things that government are trying to implement under the guise of helping to control the virus that wouldn't normally be tolerated in society, likewise I'm sure that a lot of the wealthier people who whilst crying that they are losing money will no doubt recoup most of it when they do their tax returns. After all, large companies can offset a lot of lost income against tax, I and no doubt countless thousands of others who've lost jobs paying a reasonable wage will be the losers. I lost a job that paid around £50k a year, now I doubt the taxman will want to reimburse me for lost earnings, the govenrment wouldn't even pay me unemployment benefit.

It should be simple enough to separate those who benefits from the crisis, from those who are opportunists

I read one county in California will fine $1000 for not wearing a face mask in public. There goes the stimulus check. Don't get me wrong, people need to be careful, but they are letting felons out of jail, but that is crazy.

    Riverside California wear your mask.

In theory yes, but here in the uk, one government minister is pushing for the use of certain equipment, claiming it's vital, his brother coincidentally manufactures the stuff and is already on the approved supplier list! Absolute power corrupts absolutley

'I don't know' is also a valid answer. Underrated too.

Yes, and quite often a more honest one, perhaps someone should tell Boris and his mates.

Who's to gain? I do know it won't me the middle class working man. Congress passed the stimulus package off as a way to help, people who were not able to work due to shut down. But a small amount of that money went to the poor. (People who work and pay taxes) Will end up giving the $1200 and more back in the long run. I have been retired 4 years now and my health insurance has doubled in that time, and it will jump even more after this.

They give you this but you pay for that. A Neil Young lyrics, that is all too true.
