Wow! I just heard this guy, blew my socks off. Very funky, very electro, very ambient at times, just a really good mix. I have the album Point, and it is one of those albums you have to listen to all the way through. To me, an album that is good and keeps your attention all the way through means a far more talented artist than one that might only have one or two songs worth listening to on an album. i definitely find though that in the electronic/experimental genres the artist consciously creates the album as a whole which is always good. anybody got any recommendations that are similar to Cornelius? would love to hear some similar artists
there are way too many names of artists and groups for me to remember even a fraction of my own favorites. my standard recomendation are the link farms of serge koslovski, numina, and of course the old standby hos (hearts of space). i can't recomend highly enough the first two. there's also some site, i don't remember where, but its for any kind of music, and its data base really is that exaustive, and you type in the name of any group and it looks up and gives you two or three of what it considers the closes similar of what it has. but koslovski and numia both have extensive link lists, and some of the musicians/groups they link to do also. http://mkmk1.com/kozlovsky/ click on his links button http://www.numinamusic.com/ which i've recently discouvered, their link page too! sorry i haven't looked for cornelius to see what you're talking about before responding to this. it's one of those problems i have. if i did everything i know would be the best thing to do before i did everything else, i'd never get arround to doing anything, so i hope you can forgive my failing to have. i will look him up now that you've mentioned him. i have a sneaking feeling he may be one of the ones i've stumbled on in my surfing and forgot where i found him. (would this cornelius happen to be Keigo Oyamada by any chance? i haven't found my way to samples of his ambient work yet but i did get this far looking him up after the rest of what i posted above. i do seem to remember a couple of alblum covers, one with a white stag in the mist and another with a bird on the rooftops, and another with some white cats in a forrest. i'm not sure if those immages, the first two and the last are from the same place, or if either of them were or involved him. but for some reason they seem linked in my mind with the name) =^^= .../\...
