yeah copper is, because its unreactive, it might get hot though... using that logic so are gold and silver...gold might get too soft though... i think you have to do something to steel to smoke out of it...but i know you can smoke out of it...it might have to be stainless or something but copper should be fine to smoke out of...
I was reading this pot magazine and I saw an ad for these really pretty gold-plated pipes. You guys should send me one for my birthday!
i would be careful of copper.. its a heavy metal. at sschool we were taught to avoid too much handling of the metal, its solutions etc.....
Copper often contains trace quantities of arsenic, a nasty poison. It also conducts heat VERY well, and will get too hot to hold before the bowl gets cashed.... Good metals for making pipes are stainless steel, lead-free brasses, or exotic high temperature stuff like inconel, monel, or titanium alloys.
Stay away from copper as a smoking device, think about how many copper pipes are out there for sale,0.
You DO know that most carbon fiber composites will burn, right? The epoxy resin binders will give off nasty fumes when they do, too! Unless you have access to the RCC composites that NASA uses on the space shuttle, I wouldn't suggest it.
Not nearly as hot as direct flame contact (like a bowl). And in an automobile muffler, anything that outgasses just gets blown out the tailpipe, not sucked right into your lungs....
well happy you told me this now.. i was planning on trying to create a carbon fiber bong some time in the summer since my friend just learned how to make the carbon fiber fit into and replace his dash board. =( gotta think of something else to waste my time on now
