It's a common name of books, articles, etc. As if change is some sort of disease or mental illness that we have to learn to cope with. What a way to look at things. Maybe we need another book entitled, "Achieving Bliss By Keeping Everything The Same For The Next Hundred Years." .
If I were to break my back and became a bed-ridden I'd like to read other peoples perspective on learning to live with that change. I appreciate a lot of articles etc sling in the word "change" because it is a buzz-word...but there surely is a place for these types of things, right?
I think there are a lot of people who have a difficult time with change. Some on any level. I know that professionally those that are facing changes often do not handle that well. Perhaps it is an individual thing, in that some people do fare better dealing with changes than others. Perhaps the books and literature helps them to feel they are not alone dealing with the feelings it creates.
Heat, in your last sentence could you change "feelings" with "change"?...as every other sentence has "change".
That could be referred to as coping with a back injury. Maybe part of the problem is the way we sometimes look at any type of change as an illness, like a horrible back injury. .
This reminds me of this series of DVDs I've been watching with the kids lately...it's all about change, and you adapt or become extinct. Adapt people! Change is inevitable.
