Single dad who took daughter out for Valentine's Day receives heartwarming note and free meal


A father who took his six-year-old daughter out for a Valentine's Day meal in California was left touched when two strangers left him a heart-warming note saying they had paid for his meal.

The letter, written by a husband and wife "who grew up without dads", explained that the couple saw the man with his "little date and were so impressed with what a great dad you are".

The note continued: "It's so important to have a male role model at a young age. Keep up the good work Dad! Dinner is on us!"

The father shared the story on the internet, writing "As a single dad, I took my six year old daughter out to valentines dinner tonight when this happened. I wont lie, I teared up at the table. So, thank you random strangers. Thank you.”

the coolest fact may be that there are no facts in an absolute sense, but rather positions, proposals, prepositions, 'theories', whatever you want to call them,
that are supported by massively more evidence then others. (which is not to dispute, that we are talking about so much more massive as can safely be taken for granted. usually)
and even this, is subject to change, as methods of gathering evidence continue to improve.

this is the advantage of science over beliefs. it can, and not only does, admit to making mistakes, but also can and does, as time goes on, corrects them.
that is what science is, a process, not the kind of collection of "facts" children are too often taught in school.

of course the function of beliefs is often as misunderstood as that of science as well.

neither are collections of absolute 'facts', which are for the most part, a mythical beast.

(it is never wise to neglect to ask ones self, and the surrounding universe, the next question)

there are also, more mineral substance, orders of magnitude more, by both volume and mass, in the universe, then anything to do with life,
even if almost every solar system were to have at least one of its planets in its goldy locks zone and actually bearing life in some form.

also reality is the diversity of the possible, and this is good, and the unknown being unknown, which is also good.
