Cookie Cutter Human beings

I know the title is a bit weird. I just been thinking a lot and viewing the world from afar (not from another planet but just sitting back and watching.). I been walking around my school and peering into conversations and i just noticed the amount of sadness from my eyes throughout the world. I put the cookie cutter human being in the title because, i noticed a lot of people who just are like everyone else. They are sheep and cattle that are driven by materialistic possessions. They hardest and deepest thought they have is what is going on with lil wayne or other stupid things (I hate using the word stupid). I just noticed that most people never ask questions about life or reality or perception or anything. They just go about in the existence and allow their freedoms, liberties, and minds to be taken from them. It causes me great sadness but at the same time i am tired of associating with those kinds of people. I actually took it the extreme by changing my number, deleting my facebook, and kindly telling those i wish to no longer communicate with on a personal basis to kindly leave me alone. It is getting to the point where i think i want to pack up and move into the woods. (I have done it before for about a year) i don't know does anyone else notice that most people are cookie cutter human beings or sheep?

It's funny, I'm reading 1984 right now, and I love the way that the book deals with this very idea.

Though I do prefer Brave New World and the way it plots the implementation of the dumbing down of society; 1984 depicts sheeple beautifully.

I think, what's important to remember is that they/we can change. The very nature of their/in-some-cases-our existence makes it so.

We need those questioning, free-thinking people to create a more thought-provoking environment; a more intelligence-valuing society.

Intelligent, quirky, real humans need to be more out there, more mainstream for change to occur - not less.

 

Way I see it, we're all stamped out of the same ingredients. A select few don't bake quite right, some aren't cooked long enough, some are burned at the bottom or even to a complete crisp.

We're all cookies in your scenario. Don't get upset at the fact that most of the cookies look alike or taste alike, if anything get upset at the way were all stamped out. Even then, what's the use in its upsetting you?

Your apathy is bursting your seams brother. Don't let it get to you. Just have an inner chuckle and go about your day. Cookies can still be shaped after baking. It just takes a harder press. There's still time to change the road your on.

Its one of those things that are better left unsaid. Believe me.

Yes, most people are simply composites of what they see and hear. Most people go through life not really knowing who they are because they spend so much time and effort being something they're not. So the important thing to do if you're aware of this is to simply be who you are and not worry too much about what other people think of you. Conversely, try not to pay too much attention to what other people are doing and simply live your own life on your own terms.

 

They aren't really happier, they are pacified......

 

The op is talking about the cookies, true. Like most people. What should be discussed is the oven that bakes them. It's hot.

It's interesting how if you are successful you are materialistic and too stupid to know you aren't really happy. but if your a bored high school kid or working a nowhere job you are the only one who can see the world for how it really is

OP was cut with a different cutter, the (rather common) one that causes one to perceive themselves as special and unique, and as some sort of lone thinker in a flock of sheep, because they reject popular culture as mindlessly as others accept it.

 

Perhaps less worrying about the path of others and their shortcomings means that you have more time to fix or accept the differences and move on with the things that you should be doing.

 

No i didn't mean like it upsets me to the point of letting it do damage to my life. I just feel bad because, they see the world so one sided and closed. they do not realize that life is much more then just work school and money. And i do not know if the high school comment was to me but i am not some high school kid doing nothing with my life. I go to school full time i own my own company (its a music group) and i tutor during school hours. I am being productive in my life but at the same time i will not let the materialistic thoughts cloud my mind.

I think most people are just trying to get by and not really worried that you think they're sheep.

You won't let materialistic thoughts cloud your mind, but you're being "productive"?

You talk of going to live in the wilderness to escape all the sheep, but you think you're not letting it upset you or do damage to your life?

Give me a break.

If someone's not happy with life, give them tips, if they're happy and don't want your tips, fuck off.... pretty much all there is to it.
