On one hand I think it'll be good you getting into college an all and I'll be pleased if you do, on the other hand I've had a good well cared for life; it kind of sucks that I could potentially miss out on going to certain Unis because someone else has a sob story instead of the grades.
okay, so, depression, possible add, epilepsy, bitter crippled retarded father, and a modest existence in the working class?
i wouldn't make it sound too much like your life was too fucked up. they don't want you dropping out halfway through to take care of your poor crippled retarded bastard of a father. they wanna make sure they have your money AND your good grades for the next 4 years. that being said. how to convince them you're a budding rocket scientist? print off all your HF posts and send it in as your techie application essay. if anything would convince them that you're exactly the kind of nerd they want in their school, it would be your posts on here. edit: i meant all of that in the most loving, tongue in cheek way possible.
Bunny is funny... But the words of Obama:.. the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.
Well obviously test scores whatever SAT things they are. Also , how have u improved /used your time since college? Why are u gonna do better in class now , than u wouldve done before? Have u learned new study skills/ had valuable work experience etc? Done something relevant and intellectually challenging since college? Specialist summer schools etc? I'd say go to some open days and ask em straight "what do I need on my application?" They want the "risk factor" minimised. Good luck.I'd have u on the course
That's life in the states...Good grades really don't matter anymore. High school is a big fat waste of time and effort.
get a degree at a community college (you get A's for showing up) then transfer, most any college has programs where you can transfer after you get your associates
well, not straight A's but yes, N.E.C.C. will give you A's for being there and faking interest and mustering up at least some academic endeavors, but only the minimal of cognition is needed, however be warned, you may get used to this and when you get to "real college" it can be hard to adjust, well it was for me anyway.
Well about grades , we actually had a big thing with "grade inflation".Shit colleges and exam boards gave complete idiots top grades - knowing more people would apply for their courses - and *theyd* make more cash. So unless you went to a top college , alot of degrees dont mean fuck all in England nowadays.Which makes it all a waste of 3 or 4 years...
we have grade inflation problems too, it's not been addressed in the media, for lots of reasons I'm going for a hard science degree in the u.s. so I don't think I will have too much problem with it's worth.
