Jamie - there are thousands of people on this forum - because someone claims to be a hippy means very little if they do not have a hippy slant on life. Many will simply try to burn you because they can. There are many, many who are hippies in the best sense of the word. If they are giveing you a lot of grief abut the way you dress they probably have no experience in and have never lived a hippie like life. I'm 62 and lived throught the 60's and 70's and have tried to uphold peace and love and compassion and understanding. Please don't let a few psuedo hippies spoil your opinion of Hip Forums. There are many of us out there and it is obvious that you belong. I could give you a list of many of them that I have met on the forum.

Hippies don't show hostility toward that kind of personal choice, not at all. Check out some of the hippie forums. Peace and Love - Dudley.

Well I can't apologize for everyone on these forums. I myself really, really try to be nice. Sometimes some folks are just folks, not to excuse them at all. But one cannot expect *just because* we assume that they are *hippies* means that they are tolerant & validating. I grew up on the communes in Colorado & the casts of thousands that moved through the scenery were just like any place I would say, maybe sometimes worse. Sometimes *freedom* from convention translates in some folks' minds: means freedom from decency & grace.

I've tried to understand that sometimes when folks are ugly to you, they are helping you in a way. They are teaching you to elevate your heart above the suffering of their mind.
