I'm going to the gathering in about a week and a half. And I'd like to be prepared when I get there. Whenever I go to a gathering, there's always a period of a few days when I don't really know what the conditions are like. People are always ready to give advice, but it's hard to seperate fact from rumor, and I swear that some people enjoy fucking with people who just got there.

So I've got a few questions for anyone who's familiar with camping in WV. Basicaly, what should I worry about? What is the temperature range? What kinds of nasty insects and infectious microbes are running around, and how do I protect myself from them? Are there any sticky things that grow on the ground, and what do they look like? That kinda stuff. What do I need to know to be happy in the woods in WV?

Ticks, chiggers, copperhead and rattle snakes, poison ivy and poison oak, drunken rednecks. just a few mosquitos. Possible black bears, bobcats,an occasional skunk, snapping turtles. And then there's Bigfoot and Mothman. Can't think of too much else to make you itch or scare you.

From what I've seen at past Rainbows, bikes just get in the way, mostly. Your way and others too. Just another big thing to drag around...
