we started our compost pile a couple of days ago. found a really neat idea in a gardening book. you make a "box" out of straw bales and fill it up with compost. we used some of the bales that we had banking our house this winter and a few stakes to keep the bales secure and upright. we have problems with neighbours dogs in our area so we covered the top in chicken wire. has anyone else tried this method of containing their compost?
no we have a huge compost bin but i would imagine youd have to water yours more often since the wire will let too much moisture out and not let things decompose. if i were you i would put black garbarge bags under or over the wire to keep it warm and not let water out.
Hi. I'm excited I finally got a place whre I can garden and suck a little bit. I would like to start a compost pile but don't know where to start. This is a rental property so I can't have anything permant or too big. If any one could help taht would be cool. Just kinda point me in the right direction.
Why don't you put your compost in a large garbage can?....Hey you can also shit in the garden for fertilizer!! Besides that man, what exactly do you mean when you say "suck a little bit"???
