My parents are good people. I understand their view on alot of things, but I am 19 and trying to become my own person. I have made some bad choices in the past. I want them to trust me again but they never really give me the chance. I stopped drinking all the time but I smoke responsibly, and drink a beer here and there, but never drive and try to be smart with my situations, you know what I mean. Recently my parents have cracked down on me for smoking and we have already talked about it a couple times. I just want them to realize it is my choice and my responsibility to handle whatever consequences come my way. They just tell me it's illegal and that's it. If they have more to tell me I want to hear it! We have communication problems sometimes. I am under their roof, so I try to find happy medians with them, but I think I might have to move out :(. I want to be able to have them accept me for me, it really doesn't feel like that lately.

yeah living free is nice, but like you said, you want to be your own person.
best way to do that is to have your own place, provide for yourself, and pay for your own shit.
then you are completely free to be whoever you want to be
