https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2014/09/comcast-denies-allegations-tor-crackdown-users-should-continue-report-any-non if my ISP threatened me because i was using Tor i would tell them that they better cut my service right now, because i won't stop until they do, and i'd be happy to pick up another ISP, even if the service wan't as fast. there are nodes referred to as Tor bridges that can be used for ISP's that block connections to known Tor nodes .. hopefully we don't see that kind of censorship. using Tor, proxies, or encryption doesn't make you a criminal. some may have that mentality that one wouldn't use Tor unless they had something to hide, but that's not true. and in a way, we all have things we wish to hide, from certain people, and it's really no one's business what i do on the net, whether it's illegal or not. part of it comes down to general principal. with increasing internet bandwidth, the tor network is faster than it used to be, so i expect that usage will only increase.
There's so much money in data collection these days that companies want to shove the probe as far up your butt as they can.
i have comcast. i use tor. as an IT Consultant for companies, I am involved in more than one highly sensative project and I made my team and anyone else involved in these projects use tor while working because its great for security. also, comcast is the only provider in my area so I know for a fact that everyone I work with has comcast. nobody has complained so far. I questioned my friends who use tor and have comcast and none of them has ever been contacted from comcast. this leads me to believe that this is bullshit.
