I'm doing something like this. That is, I'm doing an herbal cleanse, basically taking a fiber pill and a herbal pill twice daily, and a "super cleanser" in the evenings, which is supposed to be a total body cleanse. I'm not sure I buy it, but they were all free from a coworker. I'm basically shitting 3 times a day from it, so that makes me think it's doing something. After this, though, I'm going to do a lemonade fast (the Master Cleanser) because that is supposed to be far more effective.

I didn't want to read that whole site, because it's just a big advertizement, but if they're talking about colonics, don't do it. That's when they pump water up into your intestines to rinse them out. Doesn't really work with your body, nor does it get to the root of the problem, which is diet and lifestyle.

every cleanse site has similar pix so I an thinking that is the big, scary get you to do it, worst case scenario.
usually those sorts of pix are on colonics/ fasting sites.
but I've been on a fasting and cleansing Tribe with supposedly real pix that was the same as the ones you saw, but greener. THat person was on a liver cleanse and fast.

a woman I know had a colonic and the therapist said there was a furry piece of pork in there (don't ask me how she knew it was pork!). The woman hadn't eaten meat for years so it must have been there for years just decaying in her gut. Disgusting eh?

You can get the same effect by following a good organic detox programme.

Any site that has nothing but testimonials on it, I don't trust. Give me some facts. Published, reproducible facts. The thing that really bothered me (aside from the expected "doctors don't want you to know about this." stuff.) was that in those lovely pictures of the "parasites" the "doctor" isn't even wearning GLOVES!!! REAL Health Care Professionals take Universal Precautions when dealing with anything which emanates from the body. IMO, it was probably chicken guts or heaven knows what, but something that he KNEW wouldn't harm him, and knew it didn't come out of someone's butt, otherwise he would have taken Universal Precautions.

One things, often really high fiber supplements as well as High Colonics can actually cause pieces of your colon to break away, from the irritation. This is NOT healthy, but, if looks like meat.......and is due to abusing your colon from TOO MUCH fiber. (There actually is such a thing.)

Sounds Great to me. Or just a good diet and some probiotics. You don't need to pay some quack to sell you pills and some weird treatment, verging on a religion, to make you poo. There is plenty of good food, that can clean you out, if you feel you need that. As for meat staying in your body for years, this has been proven impossible in a normal person. Some people with illneses like Diverticulitis and Diverticulosis, (pockets in the colon, which can trap waste and other things) may have very small quantities of things stuck in these pockets, but this is a disease of people who:
    • Are usually very overweight
    • have a history of severe constipation (constipation is not be able to stool, pain while stooling and a hard dry, pebble like stool when it does come out. How often you poop is a normal varitation. Some healthy people poop 3 times a day, some healthy people poop 3 times a week.)
    • have neurological illness that causes them to not feel when they have to poop
    • May have treated IBS or other digestive problems with a low fiber, high dairy diet
I think this site is (pun intended) full of shit.

One more intesting thing, when people have to have a colonoscopy, they are given a drug called "GoLightly" which totally cleans them out for the test. NO ONE who takes this sees "parasites" (aside from the rare person who may have been in a tropical climate, or actually did come in contact with a tape worm ect, but these are the exception in the USA) AND when the HCP goes into the intestine with a camera, you NEVER see anything hanging on to the side of the colon or small intestine, you never see these monsters shown on these sites, you see some mucous, and, if the person has an illness, evidence of the illlness. You don't see huge worms, ect.

If these things were in "everybody" they would be seen during colonoscopies, and they aren't. Of course, the "parasite" crowd will tell you doctors DO see them and, (for some reason) lie about it, to get more of your money, which if you thing about it, makes no sense. Bottom line, if these monsters were common, they would be seen in almsot every colonoscopy done, and they really aren't.

Here is a good article from a renowned quack watcher.

Please, read the dubious claims of the quack Hulda Clark before you waste your time, money and you health on some of these "cleanses." A diet with good soluble and nonsoluble fiber is really all you need.

Maggie, thanks for bringing a voice of reason to this post! I saw it and (like I always do when I'm interested in something) I googled colonics and pictures and got myself all in a tizzy. My brain said it was all BS, but that paranoid nut in me was freakin out! Anyway, I had worms when I was a kid and I def KNEW I had them! My Dad and I were talking about it and we agreed there's no way to be so entirely infested with evil exotic parasites and have no clue about it, especially if a runty old pin worm can cause so much trouble!

Also, how the hell do THEY know whats normal or not in colon? When my mom used to gut chickens, all that inside stuff looked and smelled pretty disgusting, but, we knew it was all 'sposed to be that way. I guess if one didn't know what one was looking at we could think EVERYTHING in there is messed up and cause some real damage trying to fix something that isn't messed up to begin with.

Thank you, Jazz. It is great to see other people using Logic toward their health, rather than supestition and hokum.

Here's some really good articles about the fraudulent Hulda Clark and her "Zapper" as well as her mistakes in physiology and lack of knowlege abour real parasitology (ie the Fluke lives and lays eggs in the Liver, not th blood or the uterus or the intestine, as she claims) in her "parasite" theory.
    http://www.healthwatcher.net/Quackerywatch/Hulda_Clark/index.html
Clark is really the worst of the worst when it comes to quackery. She has a "clinic" in Mexico (as she was tried for practicing medicine withough a license in the USA) and I can't imagine how many people suffer and probably die there.

It just worries me so much, when people get taken and time, which could be used to actually help their health is wasted or lost. :) I hope more people use their minds, and not just knee jerk "Oh, I have one of those 10000 symptoms, I must have this problem, too."

Like you said, people can and do get parasites, but they are easily diagnosed and treated by medicine, not some machine that shoots electricity into you, or supplements that cost thousands and don't work, thus you keep using them for decades, blaming yourself for their failure.

    More on delusions of parsites:http://www.geocities.com/healthbase/parasitosis.html

and a frightening visit to Mrs (not Dr.) Clark's Clnic in Mexico:

According to experts, the myth of rotted meat and 10 pounds of impacted feces in your colon is an urban myth.

There is infact nothing left in your colon once you are done completely moving your bowels.

You should also have a bowel movement within an hour after each time you eat. If you are not having a bowel movement, you need more fiber or water in your diet...lest you want to be constipated.

But if giving yourself enemas makes you feel nice and fresh, go right ahead. :p

The WHOLE purpose of your liver and excretory systems is to cleanse the body of toxins. That is what they do. You don't need to pay money to do this. They are already doing it.

maggie, I didn't see a doc on the site ( a red flag for me)
the colonix ingredients are standard alternative laxatives:
    PROPRIETARY BLEND
    Psyllium Husks
    Flax Seed
    Fennel Seed
    Licorice Root
    Aloe Vera
    Grapefruit Pectin
    Papaya Fruit
    Slippery Elm Bark
    Marshmallow Root
    Rhubarb Root
    Alfalfa
    Guar Gum
    Peppermint Leaf
    Uva Ursi Leaf

    with stevia and banana flavor.
won't hurt, but this is no great wonder blend either.

if it had bentonite it would make sense about the ropes.
    are they just odd stools?

Good observation, drum. Years ago, I took Bentonite. (I was really into this stuff, as I said.) Had some WEIRD looking poops from it, I can tell you that.

Also, many toilets have a kind of current in them, from the flushing and the water continuing to run. A few times I thought there were things MOVING in my poops. Scared the.....shit......(bwhahahhahahhaa) outta me. Took the stuff OUT, (yeah, like I said, I was into this stuff) and realized it was either grapefruit or orange fiber. No movemnet once it was out of me. Psylium is a mostly nonabsorbable fiber, and can look really weird when it comes out. It grows, when in contact with liquid. I'm a llergic to it, and one of the things which started me questioning the "nutritionist" was that he said I couldn't be because it is "natural" and "good for you." My colon is a lot happier if I don't consume things I am allergic to.

I read a scary thing a few years ago, but it wasn't on the net, I think it was in Fortean Time Magazine. There was a "nutritionist" who was making a propriety "cure" for parasites which CONTAINED pin worm eggs.He could then point them out to his "patients" as "fact." Sheesh. I beleive he was sued for fraud and some type "intent to harm", by English Law.

Oh, synchronicity. I was watching ER last night, and they had a patient who had "Delusional Parasitism." (people who think the have parasite and nothing will convince them otherwise) she gave them a jar of lint, claiming it was containing the parasites. They put her on Thorazine....but it's just TV.

Doesn't a salt solution (made from sea salt tablets) do the same job? It is almost undrinkable and you have to go on a fast.

Even though I had a diet super high in fruit and drank a lot of water I could never go number two...I would go about once or twice a week. Now I take psyllium and eat more tropical fruits (start fruit, papaya, mangoes ect) as opposed to our normla fruit and I go everyday or every other day and feel so much better. I've had colonoscopies recently and my colon had zero build up after taking hte laxative product they gave me. Colon cleanses aren't neccesary

i think there is a difference between colon "cleanses" and colon "cleansing"- it is important to cleanse the colon in a way of... well, it has nothing to do with parasites but more to do with removing clogged up areas/clearing the lining/etc....

you dont need some "colon cleanser" for that- but the things that drumminmama listed a few posts up do work... along with drinking lots of purified water and only natural, healthy foods during that time like veggies, fruits, herbal teas, brown rice, fresh water fish
