Coffeeshops Near Hilton's Neighborhood?

I will have the whole day to fill waiting for my friend to arrive on 12/14. It's my first visit to Amsterdam and I don't want to stray too far from the Hilton that first day on my own. I looked at Nemisis' map and it doesn't radiate out as far as the area I'll be in, but I'm a smoker and really want to visit a coffeeshop. Nemisis, I hope you or any other person familiar to the area can suggest something for me
