Codeine

Why won't doctor's perscribe opiates as a short-term anti-depressant? I was feeling hysterical earlier and now after 4 paramadols with codeine I feel calm-not numb but actually calm. An hour after I took them I was cleaning like a mad woman blasting techno. These are much better than xanax. Why from a psychiatric stanpoint won't they perscribe them when lack of opiate reception can be a cause for depression? It makes no sense.

 

No pharmaceutical is better than xanax. Codeine never did a thing for me. I'm one of those codeine hardheads. ATM, I am feeling nice on some hydrocodone though.

 

Hmm, they must be high .mg codeine pills if they are stronger than Xanax.

Once I drove up to Canada and got a shitload of tylenol 3's, which had small amounts of codeine in the pills. I used the cold water acetaminophen extraction to remove the acetaminophen and I was left with a nice, POTENT, codeine drink

BTW, Alprazolam is NOT the best pharm out there though.

 

Alprazolam is MY favorite pharm out there, which is why I added the "IMO".

T3's never did anything for me, even when I popped 15 of them at once, nor did regular codeine pills.

Also, she didn't say they were stronger than xanax....just more her preference. How would it be "stronger" than xanax if the threshold dose of xanax(for most people) is around 2mg and the same people have to take upwards of 100mg of codeine to get anything?

 

Popping 15 Tylenol 3's is a HORRIBLE idea. You're liver probably went through hell and borderline failure that night...

45 mg of codeine is not enough for a dose, just to be clear. Using the extraction method, I've had a couple hundred mg's at a time in order to feel a nice codeine buzz.

Alprazolam and codeine are two entirely different chemicals, with two different purposes. Thus, they are not comparable at all, I'm not sure what you're getting at.

 

You said it must have been some high mg codeine pills to be stronger than xanax, and I was just pointing out that she didn't say it was "stronger", but that it just works better for her depression. That's all. No need to point out the differences between the two, as I am more than aware of the differences between opiates and benzodiazepines.

And 2mg as a threshold dose for xanax? thats alot. like seriously. most people i know get .25mg or .5mg pills. You usually dont get the 2mg bars till you build up a serious tolerance . . .

 

I must have misread.

I assumed she felt a stronger high from them, as she said she likes them better than Xanax. Thus I assumed she had ingested high mg codeine in order to feel a stronger high than xanax, because yes, that would take many, many mg's of codeine.

 

Yes. I don't know why I can't get high on codeine, but it pisses me off. It just makes me feel hot and sweaty, with no buzz to speak of. I'm jealous

2mg of xanax is barely anything at all. I've taken 148mg(74 bars) within 24 hours once, as if anyone believes me(I wouldn't believe it, but it's true).....that's a lot. My favorite dose is about 5mg though, because it's not too much or too little. Juuuuussssstt right

 

Haha, no I dont mean to start a fight, sorry if thats what it sounded like.

But either way, 7,500 mg's acetaminophen is HELL on the liver. Taking more than 4,000 mgs is very, very bad for your liver....

Have you tried extracting codeine from Ty 3's? You can use a couple boxes, which can amount to a couple hundred mg's of codeine, enough for nice buzz. If you've just got like natural tolerance to them... well that sucks

But they are nothing special, you're not missing much.

 

Yeah I know it's a lot of APAP, but I was at job corps and we didn't have the means for CWE. I've taken 250mg of codeine before, and it didn't do anything but make me sweaty and hot. Other opiates/opioids are nice though. Maybe I do just have a natural tolerance to codeine. I've heard of other people with the same problem that couldn't catch a buzz with codeine, regardless of how much they ate.

 

Yeah, meh, I guess that sucks.

The hydrocodones way nicer anyways, like I said, you're not missing much.

 

im showing the ld50 of alprazolam to be around 2100mg for a 70kg person, which is pretty fuckin unbelievable. So yeah, I'll buy that.

WTF! That is really, really crazy.

 

It was an accident, really. I had bought 90 bars off the internet. I only wanted to eat 3 of them that day. After I ate 3 of them, I wanted ONE MORE, then I forgot I took one more and took another, and it just snowballed and I kept forgetting that I had been taking more of them, until I ate 74 of them and passed out. My mom said I stopped breathing and she was gonna call 911, but then I woke up, stumbled into the living room, and fell flat on my face and landed on my stepdad's $400+ model airplane and broke it.

The next morning, I woke up and my mom told me that I had eaten 74 of the bars. Then I ate the last 16 bars for breakfast that day. lol

I've only tried klonopin once, and I took 8mg and didn't feel shit, aside from the joint I smoked. Lots of people seem to prefer them to xanax though. It's weird.

 

50 1 mg klonapin is do-able, ive been subscribed 3mg klonapin a day (started half a year ago), u can really build up a tolerance; it takes 25 mgs of it now to make it feel even close to as good as the first time i took my 3 mg dose. I would try to beat u but my anxietys is getting worse, klonapin didnt even handle my anxieties barely in the first place if i stopp my doseings to save up,, ill freak out,, make that freak the fuck out

Xanax makes me really fucked up after 6mg,, ive never tried more than that, mainly cause i dont see myself wanting to staying awake after that

and i love my tolerance to codiene/hydro, its horrible wich is awsome, 3 T3s then another 2 2 hours later and im good,, 2 vicoprofen then 1 2 hours later and im good

and by the looks of it im guessing codien is way easier on your heart than hydro u crazy codeine guys

Edit: ive taken 4 10s of Ambien,,, tell me those things suck? i was dazed like a muther fucker , but ive gone done to 2 or 3,, 4 is an intence daze/trip faze

Great question. I figure it is because they are scared you will try and kill yourself with it. And if you did get addicted the depression might get worse. I'm sure others know the history better than I do but i reckon that it was prescribed for this before the invention of tricyclics. Despite all this I think it is a good option for some people, or would be a good option if a doctor was willing. Perhaps Tramadol in combination with something? Ideally something to coax your body into making more endogenous endorphins (when appropriate). perhaps something will come of the POMC gene research.
