Cocktail Sauce

  1. The key is freshly grated horseradish, peel the root and grate it on a Microplane. If you like, add a few drops of white vinegar and a pinch of salt. 1/2 cup chili sauce (Heinz), 1/4 cup Ketchup, 2 tablespoons horseradish, 2-3 teaspoons fresh lemon juice, 1 tablespoon gin, 7-8 dashes Tabasco sauce, Coarse salt and freshly ground white pepper. Whisk the chili sauce, ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, gin, and Tabasco together in a bowl. Season with salt and white pepper. Cover and refrigerate until you're ready to use it.
