So, I think by now the situation shouls be pretty obvious to everyone. What do you think?

Personally, I am in love with the idea. Instead of wasting a few million dollars on an election or lowering federal funds with big business tax cuts if the opposition voted in favour of the budget the parliament is working together. A majority of people elected want to do this--this is what a democracy is.

Either leave Harper in or call another election.
If these parties believe the majority of Canadians want a separatist in power, then let them decide. Not one woman. Sorry, but I don't want a separatist being part of running the country. Then again I don't want the other two baboons in power either. layton would just want to spend, spend, spend and bankrupt this country. And dion is just an incompetent nincompoop.

Liberals need to get a new, GOOD leader ASAP, then prepare for an election.
    Until then, leave things alone!

The Conservatives have been throwing gasoline on the Coalition fires. They're demonizing the Coalition because a party like the Bloc Quebecois poses a threat to National Unity. It's scare tactics.

Anyhow, I went to the rally today and made it on National News.

We decided to walk to the Queen's Park Pro-Harper & Conservative rally just down the street that was finishing up. We ended up confronting a few there and a dozen cameras filmed us. I'm the one who says "And why aren't the Parliament doors open?" in a black tam at the end. Enjoy:

FUCKKKKK... I hate the way that Hip Forums has it's own quirks once in awhile. Was towards the end of a long reply when everything got erased. Guess my page refreshed to find HF down for a minute.

    GG must go.

    ...

Over the past few years, the media has been propagandizing the aspect of "war" amongst our political parties, and this has got to stop. The parties themselves have been falling for the propaganda and instilling the "war" mentality into their own daily dealings.

Since when have Canadian political offices become "war rooms"?

Seems to be a very new concept that has been showing up more and more.

Get the daily public so hypnotized to the aspect of war all around them and they will not see it when it is at their doorstep.

Loans and bail outs will not contribute as much as a global war would. Big auto would laugh at the new military contracts and be like kids in a candy shop.

The war rhetoric needs to get out of the daily aspects of Canadian politics.

If not... the citizens will be so used to it that they will not give notice to when a real war starts... or the ones that are going on around them.

    Separatists and socials?

    What talk...OH MY!

Well... it seems the separatists have been calming down and living life.

NOW... they will be getting more active again... and Harper has no one to blame but his own parties propaganda and trying to use the word SEPARATISTS to fear monger.

Socialists... seems the Harper government needs to spread the fear around on that one. If he gets people wondering and thinking that the NDP are socialists... then the populations will be too busy whining about that and not notice that it is the Harper government that are the socialists themselves... and that all of OUR own rights and freedoms were secreted away when we were too busy not caring about "yet another election".

    Fuck it!

I say that we take over the "Alantica" idealisim and do it on our own.
New Foundland and Labrador, PEI, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

    Low populations in all involved.

START MOVING HERE AND WE WILL HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE TO MAKE SUCH AND ACTION FEASIBLE!

    COME ON HIPPIES!

Let the Quebecors have their Quebec! I am sure they would recognize us if we recognized them ;)

Everyone thinks that Canada's East Coast ends at Montreal anyways!

I'm for it. It really can't be any worse. I'm an NDP'er so this is the closest I'm ever going to get to having a say on who wins the election.

I don't think the coalition is going to happen. It's a bluff, a scare tactic. Ignatieff has basically already stated that it is. The party presented it as a definite go, Dion was set up to take the brunt of the bad publicity, then they switch leaders and suddenly their speech becomes softer, milder, less threatening.

Basically, this was a display of power designed to take down a wild cowboy PM. They're now giving Harper an opportunity to make amends and stop trying to be the President of Canada, which definitely equates to 'Harper, just stop being a dick, stop trying to fuck us, and let's just make this country work'.

Things will be back to normal after January.

Well, with Ignatieff becoming leader of the liberals, the coalition is dead in the water.

This was never going to happen anyway. Many members of all three parties (liberals, ndp, bloc) were against this in the first place. This was something thought up by uinion jack and dion just to try and gain power, as neither of them will amount to anything...
Like warmhandedcanadian said, this was the best chance the ndp had to get close to power.
