Clothing optional party

Anyone ever thrown one? How'd the first one go?

We have a fairly private pool area, thinking of trying to have one some evening, it'd be our first. Figure with nothing but torch lights around the pool and string lights here and there it's give a good dim light mood.
Finger food and drinks, no sit down dinner or anything.

Biggest issue will be friends, not sure how many are game for something like this. One couple I know would, the other two not so sure of. Like to have 3-4 couples total if possible to make it worth while.
We're all 40-50, they know we're nudist, one iffy couple probably would since they just got back from a resort with a nude beach (first time) and said the got used to it, the last couple probably would if the others did, it'd be a new experience for them.

Based on the nude beaches and resort parties I've been to women wear thin sarongs or a see through cover shirt only when they're not in the pool, men would wear nothing or unbuttoned hawaiian type shirts. Based on that we could tell the other couples what to bring to make them more comfortable. It is after all "optional"

But i don't know if it will work to invite someone to such a party with planned nudity, if not all guests are creedal nudists.

At the number of parties i (or others) got naked, it usually started with all poeple clothed and needed an emerging occasion to get rid of rags. Like skinnydipping in the pool, or the other way round, jumping in the pool with clothes and put the wet stuff off afterwards. The trick is just to keep off clothes if you feel like. For me, important is the atmosphere, warm and subserving, to make me think of staying naked, not the parole of a party.

I agree if not everyone is going to be comfortable that might be an issue.. Try and ABC(anything but clothes) party people will still wear things to cover up but they have to be creative and cant wear clothes.. Its pretty interesting what costumes some people come up with

 

I was also thinking of calling it a "skinny dipping" party and schedule it on a warm summer night. Gives it a more youthful sound vs clothing optional.
That way clothes or cover-ups are fine around the pool, but nude is implied while in the pool.

It sucks living in the conservative Southern US and having to deal with prudishness. Just strip and jump in.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people are ashamed of being human. The fact is that all it takes is a little time around non-prudes and then a person will wonder what the big deal is.
For those who view nudity from the religious standpoint and view nudity as obscene, then you must admit that your god is the greatest purveyor of obscenity the world has ever known, after all (s)he made everyone naked with all that exists. So, if a penis or breast is obscene, god is responsible. How can you live with that? I thought there was something there talking about the wonders and beauty of god's creations. Or, as the saying goes: God don't make junk.
Also, what is it that declares a penis or breast to be obscene rather than say, an elbow, knee, foot, face, etc.? Of course, if you do believe that you, and/or the government has the right to make others "cover up" then you do realize that you agree with the Taliban and other Muslim nations that decree women must wear the burqa. Nice philosophy, huh?

 

So the trick for the OP is to push everyone there into the pool

 

Long after I got comfortable with my own nudity around others, I would have no problem being the only one nude at a party. The type of reaction has been all over the spectrum, often depending on how well those at the party know me. Sometimes a few others will get nude with me and sometimes no one else gets nude.

 

Though I've never actually held such a party if you make it clear to those invited and go nude yourself the whole time there is nothing more that you can do. Rezzano has summed it up perfectly, it's your party and you want to be nude so go for but don't chicken out as you will be setting the standard. It is "clothing optional" so yes no-one else may take the option but some one has to be first and as host that's got to be you.

 

Clothing-optional usually means that most, if not all, will wear clothes. Make it a nude party and there shouldn't be that kind of problem.

 

I'd say, this calls for an alternative version of a classic song:

"It's my party and I'm nude if I want to... nude if I want to... nude if I want to..."

Having a night swim party this weekend. 3 close couples that have been to our pool many times. I did not tell them it's an Optional or nude party since it isn't but, or should I say Butt,
They know my wife and I are nudist at our pool when we're alone and each guest has walked in on us from time to time over the years.

I'm sure after a few drinks the conversation will turn to something along that line, so after it does I'll probably be the first to peel my suit off and exclaim "Skinny Dipping time" and see what happens.

 

My husband and I have been at skinny dipping parties thrown by friends who have swimming pools (and whose pools and backyards are sheltered from view, of course) and it has been fun, reminding me of college days. They have mostly invited people they knew to not be prudes and I don't recall anyone being insulted or leaving and usually once people do the skinny dipping, they generally are comfortable staying nude when out of the pool as well.

Our pool parties start with a written invitation, making very clear that it is "Clothing Optional." Our experience has been something like this.......ten couples invited, five or six accept. Of those that attend. most get nude, some women go topless, and a few wear bathing suits. There has never been any issues, everyone has fun.

 

I've been to a nude pool party in the northern Atlanta suburbs. Some members of my nudist club had a friend who told him to invite everyone in our club. Must have been about 20 people. We had a changing room and left our clothes there and no one was wearing a thing. It was 4th of July weekend and a huge success. I had two or three friends there, but certainly didn't know most of the people. Still everyone was well-behaved and we didn't need to get liquored-up to shed our clothes.

 

the couples at your parties wear bathing suits do they get nude or stay in their bathing suits ?

 

While i would have no issues doing so most of my friends are not nudists so i don't think they would be very comfortable.

 

if your friends are open minded they might give nudism a try at your clothing optional party

 

I can not believe no one has pointed out the fact that it isnt a proper party unless it's clothing optional.

 

How do you avoid boners and an orgy braking out.

I have a group of friends (male and female) that always hangs out nude or semi-nude and we've never had a problem with random orgys breaking out. I suppose every once in a while one of us guys will get a boner but everyone pretty much just ignores it.

 

Really I don’t think I would be able to resist the urge to reach out and touch someone lol maybe I’m just an uber perve lol
