Me and my friends were hangin around and talking about random things, and cloning came up. We were saying how like, alright we've mastered cloning, why continue? we can make our own people ourselves. all the money that is put towards that could go towards so many other things...like to the unfortunate. ya know?

I'm not sure at all we've mastered cloning. I don't think humans were ever succesfully cloned, and anmals that were are born retarded and stupid and die young.

Anyway I agree we put way to much money on useless things like cloning, or space exploration. Why want to go on the moon when there are so much problems here on earth?!? The best example of human stupidity is war... ah, humans...

Cloning is the reason that I am getting cremated and scattered when I go. If I die, I really don't want to come back. I want to stay dead.

Medical purposes, as well as repopulating endangered species which is a big plus.

Cloning research was probably funded by the Military Industrial complex looking for a cheap source of the ultimate warrior army.

Too many sci-fi movies have gotten you paranoid.

Cloning isn't cheap and we still have much research to complete to be able to do it properly. Ultimate Warriors are really no different from training regular born people how to kill and torture.

Also, it isn't a pop up and go process. It takes about 20 years to make an 18 year old clone to fight for the military. So it's basically the same thing with enhanced capabilities.....nothing advanced or superhuman.

What should scare you is genetically enhanced.............DICTATORS!!!! NOOOOO[IMG]

Just because it takes time doesn't mean they won't set a goal towards it. The New American Century wanted Iraq for twelve years, well they have it now, plus subsidies and federal monies expended to gain their goal. Who's paying for it the American taxpayer and the loss of coalition lives towards their single purposed goal. Haliburton and Carlyle and their stockholders have become the filthy rich.

a note on cloning: when you clone an organism you only recreate it's physical characteristics. it's personality we'll likely be diffrent from the organism it's cloned from if the organism wasn't bred for a specfic personlity like dogs can be/ so if i had a clone there's no guarentee it would be bipolar or be concerned about shit like the gov't

That's true. Clones would be as individual as identical twins: lots of similarities, but unique as anyone else.

The whole cloning thing doesn't sit well with me at all. Kind of scares me actually. I mean, what next?

Well in horticulture cloning is a fact of life. Any plant that is propagated through cuttings or layering is in essence a clone of the mother plant. Cloning has a place but not with mammals or higher life forms I think. Even in horticulture a plant started from a cutting can "sport", so nothing in life is without it's idiosyncracies.

I believe that we should not clone any animals, humans included. It confuses me as to why people don't just let nature take it's course. Humanity has taken a huge step away from our natural ways. It's time we go back to them.
