Classical music anyone? Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and so on? I'm a sucker for romantic 19th/20th century piano-music and such, but I also like orchestrated music and Bach and stuff. Don't care too much for Mozart though. Sure, he was a gifted kid but not my cup of tea. I think his music is well composed but it doesn't move me emotionally. But Chopin? Oh boy, that shit lives! Kind of gets me sad and mellow though, not a good thing to listen to when I'm already feeling down.
instrumentalist here man... there's nothing like some good "art" music, cause that spans more time than the "classical" period. listening to the music is soothing, but playing it is even better. there was so much emotion that the composers put into their music, yet at the same time they leave it up to your interpretation of it. i love beethoven, mozart, vivaldi, bach, but my favorite is carl maria von weber.
I am as well "Classical", is kind of a blanket term we use to define intrumental music. I will say that my favorites are Medievel classical, Renaissance classical, and Romantic classical.
I've really been digging Satie and Debussy lately. The pictures that Debussy can paint are simply amazing, and Satie says so much with so little. Right now I'm listening to Glassworks, what a great piece. I love it all, but symphonies are probably my least favorite. The one composer who I absolutely will not listen to is Wagner.
Hehe, that's exactly why I won't listen to his music. Well actually I don't particulary care for the sound either, but that guy was an asshole if ever one walked the Earth.
orchestrates and symphonies music, only by Beethoven. my favorite one is the ninth symphony "Ode to Joy" 4th movememt by Beethoven, when the choral part starts is pure bliss. I also dig medievel classical, renaissance classical, and romantic classical, better with latin and/or irish gaelic choral singing/chanting.
I love Debussy. I played 'Syrinx' by him on the flute and scored a 1, the highest division. His music is slow and luxurious but requires a lot of control and expertise. I never cared much for Mozart. Has anyone heard of Chaminade?
thats a very good description of Wagner actually. There is a piece by him ( the name escapes me) that sounds exactly like a Nazi march - the piece, as a story, is actually christians marching up a mountain chanting and the main character in the piece is being drawn to them through the music. its very dramatic and dark. Unfortunately i cannot for the life of me remember the name of the piece!! lol peace and love xxxxxx
I've always been in to classical music, even as a little kid. I've always liked Beethoven, but not so much Mozart. Lately I've gotten into Debussy and Offenbach. Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld and cancans are really cool. As are Debussy's Arabesques.
Stravinsky and Tchaicovsky and Copland are my favorites. Theres nothing like the ending of the Firebird Suite.
That's because hilter considered wagner to be the epitomy of his master races' musical tastes. He took quite a bit of the idealogy that wagner spoke out about and used it as nazi idealogy. Remeber that wagner came before hitler.
