I know it sounds obvious, but I'd say wilderness. More freedom, less people, less polution (theoretically), more oppertunities and possibilities.
"Better" is quite subjective. I think it matters what the person is looking for. What do you want out of a commune or coop? Would that be better met in a forest, on a farm, or in a brownstone apt.? One of the wonderful things about community living is the diversity possible. cheers! -bucket
After a while, it gets awfully boring living out in the woods. If you're within an easy commute from a larger city, it might not be as bad.
depends upon whether you wish distraction from the self or not living in the city ..or society can help keep one distracted living in the wilderness has a way of putting yourself in front of you...which helps growth, but can sometimes be frustrating when we wish to keep up denial. ummm why did we wish to get in community in the first place ?... Writing from my own bias....
