As anyone who has seen me post about this issue knows... I am 100% against circumcision in anyone but adults who want it, or when it is medically necessary (which is extremely rare). This is just to give those who think its okay, a little more to think about it before they take their child and cut pieces of their body off. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/05/05/toddler-dies-following-routine-circumcision-at-nyc-hospital/ For those who may try to jump up and claim that the kid didn't die from the circumcision... if his parents hadn't wanted to have their child mutilated, this would NOT have happened.
Any medical procedure is risky - including getting a tooth pulled or getting a tattoo. I guess it boils down to which is riskier - getting circumcised or living your life with a foreskin. I think weighing the risks between the two leaves an obvious conclusion.
i think they have pretty much came to the conclusion that their aren't many risks to having foreskin - just gotta clean it properly. i'm circumsized, so i really don't know. are you Tom? i wonder every now and then, what it might be like had i NOT been circumsized. would it be MORE sensitive?! i'm kind of against it as well, but not very informed to be honest. i'm not sure what i'll do if i ever have a son - i wouldn't really know how to teach him about cleaning his uncircumsized dick...
I am yes... and yes it does effect sensitivity... want to know for sure? wear condoms for a couple of days (changing them to keep clean of course) and let your dick actually spend some time where it isn't constantly exposed to air and friction and see what happens. As for cleaning properly, you wash it, pull the skin back, wash it, making sure everything is clean and rinsed... thats it... The problem with hygiene comes from peoples fucked up notions of not being comfortable with our bodies. There is no difference between teaching a son to wash his dick properly then there is in teaching him to wash behind his ears.
I agree with you 100% on this topic. If the skin wasn't supposed to be there, then it just wouldn't be. And it's wrong to mutilate a baby to suit your own yuppie ideals.
