Why then has no one else come forward?

Most if not all those that are currently being detained have ready access to lawyers of their choosing. Hell, they've had motions in the SUPREME COURT.
If just one of these pricks came forward and said: "Yes, I too was waterboarded" it would immediately make national headlines and PROVE (or at least raise doubt) that the CIA lied about the fact they only used it on 3 people since 2001. ESPECIALLY if all the droves of people that you claim are out there came forward...even without proof, their word would wreak havoc on the Federal Government's image.

Why don't you try using your brain for once (beyond the area responsible for emotional reactions).

Jesus Fucking Christ, dude, don't pretend to be a child. You know the answer to that as well as I do.

Look, if you're so into torture, can't you just buy yourself a cat or something like that to toy with?

Why is it we are holding these people on foreign soil, why not incarcerate them here in the states? I suppose it's for national security? We imprisoned the Japanese and Native Americans, prisoners of World War II in the US, why are we holding prisoners in Cuba?

And why is their detention in a lot of cases being supervized by private contractors? Perhaps because those private contractors by Executive order are being protected from any accountability or liability?

Michael Savage, that last bit really made me lol. Do you really think once tortured they just tell them to run along. No, if this isn't done in Guantanamo, it'll be done in unnacountable Black Sites in Eastern Europe, where waterboarding is the least they do.

There's no evidence for that whatsoever. What you're doing is called "speculation", and however certain you may THINK you are, we don't convict people based purely on circumstantial evidence.

And as far as the list of those who have died in captivity? I don't see how that proves anything either...POW's die. Especially when they try to escape.

I never said I was into torture, you insinuated that. I just said that unlike you, I'm not sheading any tears over 9/11 co-conspirators and Al-Qaeda leaders being waterboarded.

Torture is a slippery slope, once you put forward justification for one type, then you put forward justification for other types (no that is not the same as gun legislation before you make that point).

    Black Sites aren't speculation:

    from wikipedia:
"US President George W. Bush acknowledged the existence of secret prisons operated by the CIA during a speech on September 6,"

You can have a look for the speech if you want, but the next best thing I can find is from a BBC article:

"He said the prisons were a vital tool in the US "war on terror" and insisted that the CIA had treated detainees humanely and had not used torture.

In July 2007, Mr Bush issued an executive order which banned "cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment" of terrorist suspects by the CIA, but not its operation of secret facilities. The agency has since declined to say whether it still uses them. "

So, did torture put Nick Berg's head back into it's place and bring him back alive or did the policy of torture and unresolved root cause of the problem merely result in more animosity on both sides, thus perpetuating the problem.

Torture is violence, and violence only begets more violence.

saying because you do it for a special group of people you will then move on to do it for everyone is a fallacy... the slippery slope fallacy :D

In 1995 President Clinton signed a Presidential Directive that granted the CIA permission to use the extraordinary rendition process. Did anybody here speak out against Clinton detaining terror suspects and flying them to Syria, Egypt, or Morocco to be tortured?

You forgot the quotes around "try to escape."

Just like in earlier fascist nations, now that your party has seized the right to vanish, torture and murder people without trial, you're having a very hard time letting go of it.

We really need a war crimes tribunal. And a lot of rope.
