Christopher Darden was the one of the lead prosecutors in the O. J. Simpson murder case of 1994-5. And basically sabotaged the case right from the start. He was responsible for the glove fiasco and that famous "deep voice" comment. And right from the start, I thought he did that on purpose. Because he wanted people to know. That public defenders often conspire with the prosecution, that prosecutors and judges are often overworked, and sometimes do a really crappy job, sometimes on purpose. That our whole justice system is rigged to favor the rich and famous. And he wanted everyone to know that, I think. Even if doing that made him look bad. That takes real moral courage, I think. (Also, not that it matters. But Mr. Darden is a Democrat and an African American himself.)
