The bible says that if someone dies before the age of accountability, then they go to heaven. That means aborted children go to heaven. If they are given the chance to live, they're like 70% likely to go to hell. So I ask, what's the better deal, if they get to live on the earth a few years and then go to hell, or if they go straight to heaven?

The problem with your logic and reasoning is that you're... using logic and reasoning!

Christians are taught that "With God, All Things Are Possible." Therefore, any and all logic and reason can automatically be disregarded. It doesn't have to make sense. 'Gawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwd' can work around that.

Besides, the "Christian Right" is not entirely anti-abortion. They apparently think abortion is just fine as long as it's "a raghead" woman who is non-Christian and whose abortion was induced by shrapnel or white phosphorus.

Beyond-the-clouds ... hehe no offense man but your argument sounds like that woman who drowned her sister's children in the bathtub in order to save them from going to Hell ...

predestination? isnt that like god picks out certain people to go to heavon or hell before they are born and no matter what, nothing can change it? that makes no sense. that would mean even mother teresa who was super religious and did all that good stuff, could go to hell, just cuase god chose it before he even made the world

I don't know why they're against gay marriage, too. If they are pushed into a straight lifestyle, they will pass on their gay gene and further perpetuate what the fundies disapprove of.

It seems very obvious that the doctrine of Predestination:

-Originated as a philosophical attempt to explain what cannot be explained within the boundaries of orthodox Christian thought and scripture.

-Found practical use as a means to perpetuate some existing social orders and power structures.

-Is still used in certain Christian denominations to explain the unexplainable and reinforce member belief in their own assured and superior position within the universal order.

That's not even near true. Even those people who hand you out pamphlets at the subway stop are trying to get you to heaven. Now I'm not saying I agree with this technique but that's the aim. That's ALL over the Bible and isn't disputed between Christians.
