why do christians have such a strong hatred towards satanists really why do they??

why do they speak such lies such as satanists kill babies and sacrifice animals.
and then they do another stupid thing by comparing wicca and satanism and ultimatley calleing them 'evil' devil worshippers
the christians in america are also trying to pass out an act which in their eyes will hopefull legalise witch killing....aghrrr aghrrrr these thingsss piss me off soo much

I am unaware of this law, and it won't pass, unless of course our entire nation has gone to hell...

People bound by religion tend to be sheep (not all of them don't misconstue what I am saying). If it comes from the pulpit, most people will beleive it. Checking facts? What's that? What's the need? All the lies were either misunderstood or they were made up for whatever reason, taught in the pulpit, and bang, instant fear and hate.

However, the satanists don't help their case. They want to convey an anti-christian anti-God message. It is the whole point of calling it satanism. Most people confuse it with satan/devil worship (an entirely differant thing), and that is where all this stuff comes in. However, this is also what the satanists wanted! Research it. The name war for pure shock value and to raise a ruckus that they oppose the Christian church. Why else would they name an atheistic self-indulging lifestyle after the enemy of the majority religion?

I agree, that the Christian church is littered with innacuracies and unnecesary hate and feat toward the group, but they asked for it. Otherwise, they would just call themselves Hedonists which is the same philosophy, to my understanding (not rituals and they don't have the satanic bible, but the actually philosophy behind it to embrace human nature and all do what feels good).

Wicca is a pretty far cry from Satanism. Which to me if you're talking about "Lavey Satanism" is in a lot ways repackaged humanism. Not trying to offend Satanists (never in life did I think I'd type that) just my take.

I dont know in honesty, i have been studying this recently for my course which is interesting that it should be brought up here - AWESUM!. I dont know who or how the idea that Satanists killed babies and stuff started, it was probably by "christians" a long time ago. It is a rumour that keeps coming back (like the rumour weed in veggie tales if u've ever seen it, LOL). I think some christians get all weird about new religions/practises like Wicca and just automatically asume its satanic, which is a little naive and i guess that maybe it isnt even a rumour but just someones imagination gone wild (not neccesarily for a bad reason, but just anxiety or paranoia of the unknown) and before you know it someone has told their friends who told their friend, promising it was "from a reliable source" and then you got a moral panic on your hands and people are pointing the finger at the subcultures as they are easy scapegoats. It crazy isnt it? But its true. I mean in America i believe that happened in the 80's with the new wave craze of Wicca? and indeed i think its happened again with the success of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (which is by no means a true representation of Wicca i presume) and yeh, people are scared of what they dont know and blinded by what they do sometimes. That is not true for all however. Its fascinating stuff and interesting to read about. If anyone wants any book references PM me or IM me and i'll happily indulge you with a plethora of reading material. Its important to learn, discuss and ask questions i think :) Roly.

Good grief. If that's the intellectual level this forum's on, it's a good thing I don't come over here much.

Without Christisnity there would be no 'satanists'. It is entirely dependent on Christian cosmology for its existence. It is in fact a kind of reversal of Christianity.

    Sad isn't it.

Our nation is already back from the trip to Hell ...

We were thrown out when Bush gave Satan the finger and told him that he could do a better job of screwing things up. =(
