Dunnit, innit. I say chips wit' curry sauce every time. Those mushy peas look radioiactive to me with their bright day-glow green colour.
That wasn't on the option list Cayo Blimey the Curry v Gravy debate, now that, is another story - lol
I prefer neither mushy peas or curry sauce. I like my fish 'n chips with a couple of pickled onions on the side.
My Scottish Grandmother always served the mushy peas. She knew how to make the best fish and chips.. with cod. In Amsterdam there was a fish and chips place run by a Glaswegian, and they had the best. I enjoyed the salmon and chips a lot! They would have several varieties of fish... right off the Dam Square on the Kalverstraat. Around the corner from the Victoria Hotel.
..... But, but, but where's the fried fish or the 'bangers', eggs, bacon, mushrooms, black pudding & tomatoes ???
So if we are adding items, it would depend on what accompanies the Chips, that makes the adding of Peas/Curry relevant then?
