China has responded to the publication of the Charter 08, a Chinese human rights declaration, by jailing some of those promoting this document, which you can read in Chinese here:

The Charter 08 is being published on the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in an attempt to force Chinese government reforms.

Here's an article on the arrest of prominent dissident, Liu Xiaobo over this.

I suggest that you find out more about Chinese people before you recommend those sites

Chinese people are fully aware of what goes on in their country.
It might be shocking to you, but many Chinese people do not share Western ideas of personal freedom being of supreme important. Quite a few people are very happy with the government despite being in full knowledge of corruption and sporadic acts of violence.
This is not to say that they like violence or corruption. But they are generally satisfied with the government. If they are intelligent, they usually agree that democracy in China would be a disaster and that at the moment Party rule is the best way forward.
    Peace
