Check out the marijuana laws in your state. Some are pretty bad. http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=4516 I'm in Florida, and Sale or Cultivation with 1,000 feet of School, College, Park, or other specified areas is a felony and 15 years in jail. For possession, 20g or under is a misdemeanor and a year in jail, but more than 20g is a felony and 5 years(at the least) in jail. Also, with all of those there are big fines. Pretty tough laws. Edit: Holy shit. I decided to click on something random, like a big state, and I clicked California. 28.5g or less is a $100 fine and no jail time.
That's at maximum, generally you don't get the maximum, I've yet to know anyone that's gone to jail for even selling weed.(well one person, but he was moving pounds along with coke)
Oh ok. Well only the 25lbs and over, it says mandatory minimum is 3 years, and the mandatory minimum goes up a lot if you have a lot more. And I know you said it is the max, but still crazy, in New Hamshire if your over 18 with intent to sell, you can get drivers license suspension for up to life.
"Possession of paraphernalia is punishable by up to six months in jail." god i forgot about this one, i need to be alot more careful about stuff that lays around my car so many people ride in it...
marijuana is a Schedule I drug.. meaning its just as dangerous as meth and heroin and crack and coke and pcp and ketamine and GHB and X.. the list goes on and on
I am confused on the Tax Stamp stuff. Like for Texas: Marijuana tax stamps: This state has a marijuana tax stamp law enacted. This law mandates that those who possess marijuana are legally required to purchase and affix state-issued stamps onto his or her contraband. Failure to do so may result in a fine and/or criminal sanction. For more information, see NORML's report Marijuana Tax Stamp Laws And Penalties . This all sounds new to me. So if I get caught with weed and I have a Tax Stamp on it, there is less of a penalty?

Conditional discharge is available in all use and possession cases.
Medical marijuana: This state has medical marijuana laws enacted. Modern research suggests that cannabis is a valuable aid in the treatment of a wide range of clinical applications. These include pain relief, nausea, spasticity, glaucoma, and movement disorders. Marijuana is also a powerful appetite stimulant and emerging research suggests that marijuana's medicinal properties may protect the body against some types of malignant tumors, and are neuroprotective. For more information see NORML's Medical Marijuana section.
