i´ll be in amsterdam for new years eve. i think i´ll be there about a week, too. i was wondering if anyone has stayed at certain hostels that were good and cheap. i´m looking for specific names, too. the location doesnt matter too much, but it would be better if it were somewhat in the center of the city. thanks for the help!
I'm sure there are lots of threads about that here somewhere.. but check: http://www.lastwaterhole.nl/hotel/indexhotel.html www.flyingpig.nl
http://www.flyingpig.nl Staid here at the 'Downtown' hostel, met loads of like minded backpackers doing the Europe thing, check out the site and message boards there, central cheap safe, all you could want really. Have fun!
if you've been travelling around in europe, you're liable to get to amsterdam and be like HOLY SHIT THIS PLACE IS EXPENSIVE! because in general a hostel, in a dorm style room is definitely about 30 euro a night - compared to hotels in the united states or wherever, that's not bad, but considering you can get them for about 10 euro in prague or rome or practically anywhere else, it does seem expensive! but yeah flying pig or the bulldog - i loved the bulldog, they've just redone a lot of it - look for the one near the red light, it's a lot closer into town than the other one. have fun you lucky monkey.
first time i´ve heard you say this... and i know amsterdam is expensive. it´s not like i havent been there before. when i was there the last time i was staying with a friend (in a different city in holland, but we still went to amsterdam) so it was free.
So dorms at the Pig for period 22 december - 3 jan are as low as €22 and u just know your going to enjoy it!...sounds like value for money to me.
