Try your local hardware store. They have rope on roles and stuff like that, but you may not be able to buy a whole role, just a lenght that they cut off for you.

Good luck on your project :)

This place is hit or miss with stock, but when they do have stuff the price is great.

This place requires a minimum order ($65), but they do sell nylon cord by the roll. http://www.cheeptrims.com/

If you have a hancocks or joanns near you you could check and see if they would give you a discount for buying in bulk. I know at one time they did this.

I've used twill tape and hemp, but that may be more expensive than nylon cord. You could also make cords out of material, but they're a hassel to turn if you don't have the tool.

i use shoelaces! they work well and look totally stellar w/ beads on them..

i also make drawstrings w/ the same or different fabric..and just make a long tube...it's pretty simple if u just turn both sides in and fold it over and press..then just stich once.. :) very cheap cuz u use left over fabrics :)
